I recently posted a topic about quitting my job and concentrating on a home based business...I am looking for suppliers and have found that is the hardest part..... But i was wondering by looking at big company sites such as canon and sony and such...and wondering how hard is it to become an actual supplier of their products.... Would they grant that privilege to a home based business with just a tax Id number such as mine?....if any one has any info on that please let me know..thanks

It's always worth a try. Many times, though, you need a brick and mortar store to purchase from a distributor. And then you are required to sell retail.

Don't bother wasting your time. They sell through regional distributors, who strictly regulate who they sell to.

You will find no "name brand" manufacturers who knowingly sell to "internet only" businesses. The only exception might be some QVC type outlets.

Among other things, they won't take the time to process a small order from anyone. Other than the time pulling the order, it costs them as much to process the paperwork for you order of 3 pieces as it costs to process an order from a distributor for a truckload.
