    Hey,
I have always been intrested in buying wholesale and reselling but never took the time to do it...
I am looking to buy in smaller lots and resell on ebay.
I have spent hours looking online at numerous wholesale sites and they all seem to be the same.... useless. i may be wrong,

I am not sure exactly what i want to sell, i have thrown a few ideas up in the air..
i would be really intrested in selling music associated apparel but im not sure how easy they would be to come upon.

I would love any feedback or advice,
    thanks

The first thing you need to do is decide on the product(s) you would like to sell. Once you have decided on this do some research on EBay to see if it would even be profitable with all the fees that come along with a sale.

Well, the hard part about knowing what i want to sell and seeing how profitable it might be is knowing how much it will cost me to buy.. there are alot of these wholesale websites that almost seem to sell there items for more then retail.. So basically i need to first find the best place possible to look at and purchase certain items before i can decide the exact items i want to sell...
any suggestions of where i could look..
or like you said, by finding what i want to sell beforehand would it make the search for them items at good prices easier..
im just having a hard time finding items that i could purchase for a profit

If you want to sell music related items, I would suggest not selling shirts. I have a friend who dropped out of college our junior year with grand ambissions of owning his own clothing line that was centered around bands. He pays the rent and what not, but he does not have a lot of extra money. He has all his shirts made, so he is not even paying any middle men. Just a thought if you were thinking about selling shirts :)

Great advise! I had a few ideas on what I "thought" would be great to sell on Ebay until I did some research. Then I realized how much competition there was on these products, how low they were selling them for and the actual Ebay fees. I would've been either losing out, breaking even or nickle and diming my way to a decent monthly profit. It just wasn't worth it. Please do ALOT of research before you decide on selling anything, it will save you $$$ and alot of aggrevation. Plus you won't be stuck with all this stuff you can't get rid of. :D

Check out this supplier. Find something that you want to sell on ebay and list it. When it sells just have it dropped shipped to your customer and never have to have money tied up in merchandise if you do not want to. This way you do not have the expense of having to have the product shipped twice. Once to you and then you ship it to your customer. They don't pad the shipping charges just regular UPS rates. And best of all wholesale prices are good and products are good with new products being added.

    Store

    Hope this may help.

    You gotta be joking.

Forget those cookie cutter sites like freestoreclub.com offers. They are not wholesalers. They are over-prices retailers. They buy all that stuff from BNFUSA.com

All the stuff on that site is marked up hundreds of %. For instance, the mini pool table is 27.00 at BNF and they are charging $112.00 for it. ALthough that is their retail price, do not even bother signing up to see their wholesale price, as even half of that would be too much. GO to the source. Besides, once those wonderful sites get your email, they will bombard you will silly emails and sell it to other business opportunities.

Those cookie cutter sites just lead everyone in the wrong direction. Sad part is those are the sites you find on tiop when searching on the internet.

I am still paying for the mistakes I made since opening my business in October. Unlike a swap meet, variety kills your time on eBay. I purchased several hundred different types of watches and have spent hours taking photos and writing descriptions. It is best to find just a few consistent items and create one ad for it. Just a thought as you look for ideas.

I met a guy who sold thousands of pairs of pants one Ebay, one at a time. Took pictures of each one, too.

selling band/music merchandise is something that really intrests me... it seems as though band t-shirts will sell for around 10$ average on ebay,, plus there are other items like buttons, hats, posters..etc.

I just have no clue where to look for these items..
Im sure there is some copyright that would prohibit me from making the t-shirts myself...

and i read on an earlier post, something about being able to pay rent but not having extra money...
i am not looking to make a whole lot of money.. i am looking for a consistant amount that isnt something unreasonable.. $100 a week would be enough. soo maybe that opens a few doors?

BNF wholesale prices are a few dollars lower than freestoreclub but they do not offer you a web page to sell from. That way you do not have to stock and ship product yourself.

The mini pool table wholesale cost is only $37.00, ten dollars more than BNF but I can mark it up to what ever price I would like. You are correct at this time I have a retail price of $112.00 on this product on the website but if I am selling it else where I can sell it for less and have it dropped shipped to my customer. At this time I have all products marked up 3X on the website. I can go in and change each individual product prices if I choose to do so. BTW, it is always easier to offer a special on something than try to raise prices, most time I sell at double my cost. Some items though you can charge more for all the time like knives and leather wear.

As far as their Privacy Policy you did not even read it. They do not give out any informations for any reason except if court ordered. The only emails I get are telling me I have new customers, affiliates and company updates. But on the other hand BNF and its affiliates reserve the right to sell or transfer your information (including but not limited to your name, address, zip code, state, country of residency, phone, fax, preferences, type of business and other information you provide through other communications) to a third party.

Next time please have your facts straight before assuming you know everything before posting. Some other companies may do what you stated but not FreeStoreClub

ok back to my questions, first off..
is it legal for me to make shirts containing the name of a band?

    and

Would it be hard for me to purchase band t-shirts wholesale or will there likely be a seller who has stock of many bands?

It is legal for you to make a shirt of a band if you have their permission. Like I said, my friend did, but he chose bands that are on the up and coming. He had to give them all an arsenal of free shirts to wear on tour, and his site must link to theirs and promote their cds, stickers, etc. If you are looking to sell big bands, I have no idea how you would do that, but I would imagine reproducing dave matthews shirts would get you in trouble.

There have got to be plenty of wholesale places to get big band shirts pretty cheaply, just look around. Probably no one will give you a site where they are making $5 a shirt profit, but if you look i'm sure you'll find one.

yes, i have been looking found a few sites. still comparing prices and such.. and like you said your friend is selling upcoming bands and such, which is what i am mainly looking to sell.

Another question, I have stumbled upon a few sites that will only sell to an "established retailers", what exactly do they mean. Is there a resellers license that i need to get?

    thanks
