Steer clear off Vivid Clothing - We placed a small order for US$600. He emailed to say that he'd received the money. Now he doesn't answer our emails! -
try all to get your money back

Just found this posting on EC21.com posted by Q Enterprises
Vivid Clothing is A SCAM! Abercrombie, Diesel
Do not deal with Anthony Stephens from Vivid Clothing they will send you half of what you ordered and then promise to send the rest...I also believe they sell counterfeit items as well. STAY AWAY! SCAM! -
and Anthony Stephens gave me a german adress where I should ask to ask for a reference.
I didn`t transfer money, but I thought about it.
He also seems to use the Name Sri Lankan Exports

Reading this post got me worried because I transferred over $1000 to them in late February. I received comfirmation of receipt but did not hear back after that. I figured that was normal (we have been importing for about a year now and I've learned orders take time). But then I read this post and freaked out. So I emailed Anthony a few days ago, hoping that he would reply to me, but not really expecting him to because of what has been said here. To my happy surprise though, he replied within 24 hours.
He told me there was a delay with my order (which is common in my experience), but he did reply in a very timely manner. In the end, he may take my money and run, but I wanted to post here to at least defend him a bit. After 4 years of selling and 2 years of buying, I try to give everybody the benefit of the doubt. I'm relatively new to this website, but I've seen how quick people are to cry "scam" here. I'm sure some of these people have real reason for their complaint, but I am equally sure that many of them are just impatient, do not understand the nature of the business they have entered, or are just downright vindictive.
Just as you should not be quick about believing the goods things that may be said about a seller here, don't be so quick about believing the bad. I repeat, Vivid Clothing may end up screwing me over, but so far, I have had no reason (other than these posts) to believe that to be the case. -
I agree with you, but I find it a bit problematic that I write the man to get him to confirm that the money is in place on his account and now he doesnt reply at all. (I have gotten the confirmation note from my bank, so i know they are there)
I sincerely hope that he doesnt screw me over, I have people standing in line to buy the products I have bought from him - They go like hot bread.
Have a nice weekend all
And the best to all of you -
Yes, many are very quick to scream "scam" on this forum. Although, many times I believe this to be intentional. One of those that posted here earlier I believe may be one of Anthony's competition.
Anyways, I too have ordered from Anthony. I asked for two references first and they were both excellent. I spoke to one of them over the phone and he has had no issues with him.
At this point, I have received 1/2 of my order and the balance will be on it its way soon. Importing does take time, so you do do need to be patient. Yes, you are right - Anthony is not the greatest with emails - and returning them. He usually gets back to you but it may be a week.
Has anybody having problems getting to him through email tried calling him? I have called him twice to get additional information. I have spoken with his mother who is helping him out. She is always well aware of my order and at what stage it is at.
Also, you have to remember that you are working with someone from a different culture. The pace is different and the culture is different. -
Finally.. Today when I arrived home the UPS man knocks on my door and says he has a package from Sri Lanka! - Yuppie I thought, I have been waiting for this for 1½ months (With no sound at all from Anthony).. Then i looked at the parcel which is tripple the size of my laptop computer..
Opens it, and inside i find 20 Ralph Lauren Polo shirts in various colours... This is okay.. IF IT WAS WHAT I ORDERED!! - Ive ordered (and payed for) 20 Abercrombie Sweatshirts 20 Ralph Lauren Polo Sports Sweatshirts 20 Abercrombie T-shirts and 75 pairs of Ralph lauren boxers 1042 dollars all in all.
Now i have recieved for 200 dollars worth of clothes.. No letter inside the parcel, no email no nothing explaining this. What a stand up guy!
If i were you i would stay away from this man.

I bought some Shirts from a broker and also got the shirts via Vivid Clothing, but my offer was 100% perfect.
Another guy from Sri Lanka told me that there are something like their new year holiday. Maybe thats the reason Anthony doesn´t reply.
btw. 1½ months is not long.. -
I know that is has recently been the sri lankan new year (ended 20 april) I think that 1½ month without any sound from the deliverer is a long time. When you dont know anything about your money, if they are safe or not..

Vivid clothing is definetly a scam! I was about to order RL sweat tops from them but did a little research and got in touch with a gentlemen by the name of Spencer Crandy who actually got ripped off for thousands.. Vivid actually assumed this name a short while ago, and prior to that were ripping off buyers through another online fraudulent company.. I definetly would not send this prick a fkn dime. fkn scumbags

I am new to this board, but I have worked with Anthony before. I am from Korea and I visit Sri Lanka often to buy stocklots from. He is my only supplier of Abercrombie merchandise.
Vivid Clothing is a big player in the Sri Lankan stock lot industry and he only recently took his operation online. It sounds like has made a few mistakes
:) However, he is no fraud, he actually owns two factories in Sri Lanka that produce American Eagle under licence. I say, if American Eagle says he's not a fraud....he's not a fraud..
:)
Since there seems to be no other korean buyer on this site, I dont mind telling you that he is the only sure supplier of Ralph Lauren Pink Pony and Abercrombie and Fitch I have been able to find.
Yes, he is slow in replying, that I must agree, but he has never cheated me.....its always a mistake or a delay.
On another note: If anyone can offer me Gucci, Fendi, Prada or any other Italian designerwear, please let me know. -
Well, I'm back to give my followup about my experience with Anthony at Vivid. It's been over 4 months since I wired the money and still nada. However, he does still reply to every single one of my emails timely. Something about the shipment going wrong and him having to start all over with the paperwork. At this point, I don't know what to think. If he was a true scammer, I would think he wouldn't even bother to reply to my incessant emails. On the other hand, all I get are excuses and promises that the goods "will definitely ship next week" (5 weeks ago). So we'll see.
-
Anyone got some more experiences ?
I sent about 2500 US$, the money is there for some weeks and nothing has been sent. Especially, this guy is hard to get by email.
Anyone got a fax number or something ?
Also, anyone has ever got a refund from Vivid Clothing ?
Cheers,
Alex -
Anthony Stephens can be trusted to get you the good eventually. My first order took two months and then was incorrect. Also his pink pony's are fake. All Pink ponies made in sri lanka are knock offs and many people are selling them on ebay, especially the football jerseys.
-
I am not your opinion.
You can buy pink pony merchandise from Sri Lanka with paperwork. -

Well, I think I originally wired him money in February. That's 5 months ago, and still nothing. I hope you're right in that I will get the goods "eventually" but man, 5 months is a darn long time to wait, so I'm very skeptical at this point. In addition, he continues to "promise" me delivery "next week" every month!
His last email to me, sent July 11:Dear Madam,
I am sending out your goods this week. That is a promise.
Anthony
On June 10, he wrote:I have the goods and they will be shipped next week definitely we had to pass documents afresh after a long procedure of cancelling the previous set. Please bear with me only this week.
thanks
Anthony
On May 28:I am so sorry for the delay but the process involved once it was off loaded and returned is so complicated here with new documents reqiured.I can gurantee you willhave your shipment next week.
Thanks
Anthony
There were more, but I don't have all the emails. -
sounds fishy to me! I get shipments from Sri lanka weekly, but no problems such as this. He might be trying to scam you, watch out .

hello,
what type of papers they provide with Pink pony , do they send you resell letter or letter of authenticity , ( without that there is no meaning of papers ) Certificate of origin or Visa documents are not enough for branded items they must have sanitised invoice, copy of resell and letter of authenticity .
I saw there pictures on there site , particularly Football jersey , but the strips on sleeves are in wrong direction and color combination.
Does in Sri lanka Ralph Lauren is having different styles as there football jersey is 100% sure not as shown on Ralph Lauren website , can you please clear that to me.
Regards

Ravi,
There are fakes also in Sri Lanka.
I would have been able to buy some pink pony merchandise
with export lisense documents and CEO(Country of origin)
I think it is enough.
The products looked authentic and was Made in Sri Lanka.
Do you sell also pink pony merchandise and
which papers can you send?
I heard you can not supply any.
-
Hello,
we can provide certificate of origin and visa if the quantity is good , it is not possible to get visa etc for small orders.

Update:
Last week my order arrived. After I was able to get Anthony on the phone a week before, things started to move again.
But it was still and is - at least for me - impossible to get any email response from that guy.
The order was complete (about 5% missing, I consider that ok), but color and size assortment was completly different from my order.
The quality (RL Oxford, RL Oxford Striped) is ok, but I am rather sure that it is not genuine.
I spoke to some brokers last week, and although everyone agreed that there are RL facilities on Sri Lanka, they also said that they are very strict and it is impossible to get surplus from them.
Any opinions on that ?
Regards,
Alex -
Alex ,
I visited Sri Lanka last month and met the company owner who makes Ralph Lauren in Sri Lanka with a confirmed LC for 15000 pcs , he refused to give a single pcs with papers .
There are lots and Lots of brands made in Asia under licence from brand owners and the companies making for them sells there surplus stocks / over runs/ defective pcs in local market but not a single pcs they can sell with any letter of authenticity , they are doing job work for Licencee companies under 1-2-3 year agreement and there 100% production has to go to there parent company only.
As they them selves doing job work they don't have any brand resell letter , proof of authenticty / sanitised invoice . So if anybody is saying I get branded goods from Asia with letter of authenticty he is giving wrong statement , we can get Visa / certificate of origin etc but for 100% sure can't get resell letter and sanitised invoice from brand owner.
Ravi
Note : The above information we got from the company who makes Ralph Lauren in Sri Lanka and one more thing Pink ponies are note made in Sri Lanka , any doubt go and call Ralph Lauren office at there toll free numbers. -
This guy company sells fakes.. I wouldn't deal with them at all in anyway... Who wants fakes? Go to prison or pay a heavy fine because of a shirt. It only takes 1 guy to report you and your done for..

Ultrabrands, can you give me his phone # again? The number you gave me last time says it's disconnected. -
I think, as a rule, I'd probably avoid trying to get anything out of a country that has been in a state of civil war for the past oh, 15 or more years. Frankly, I'm surprised you got anything at all out of there. Between bribing Sri Lankan gov't officials and LTTE pseudo-officials...
Doesn't seem like a high probability of a successful venture there...
That's just cynical old me.... -

This is Anthony Stephens cell phone.
It worked for me, but perhaps he changed his provider and got a new number.
I wish you best of luck,
Alex
