    Anyone dealt with e-overstocks.com?

I'm just starting out and need sources, mostly dropshippers. I have spent 2-3 years searching the web so of course I've already found the most likely ones. I have bought most of those lists that list the ones that can be found in the search engines also. I still haven't found the gem I'm looking for. I don't think it exsists. Thanks

    2nu and All!

I have no idea why companies promise such great results (e-overstock) and never promise more than a couple easily found suppliers. It is not all that hard to find trade organizations on line, and go to websites like Surplus.net.

You have to be careful when dealing with some Surplus dealers however, and always "Fly and Buy" where you can, and if you can't--never spend more than you can afford to loose. Never pay any Surplus dealers with a wire transfer. Most will require it, and it is the natural course of that business, but--find a company that will let you do both--charge your credit card, and by in case quantity..

    Good Luck...

I just wanted to add my two cents to this...

I have purchased many lists on the market looking for that hidden gold mine. I throw alot of money on the wall trying different things and getting additional information. I attend many trade shows and events, purchase lists etc. I would say that 99% of the lists on the market today are junk. I know for a fact! I also purchased the eoverstocks.com access and found it be one of the most informative. I spent alot of time, energy and money to learn some of the sources this company provided. Yes, there where companies that I had accounts with or knew of.

I wished I found this site long before I did! It has some good wholesalers and drop shippers but the best part is it is giving the direct sources for liquidation/salvage. I had been buying for over a year from a couple companies that I thought where the first inline but after I purchased access I found out I was wrong. It could have saved me thousands.

I now know and know I'm getting the best pricing. You will need a Tax ID for most of the sources but not real deep pockets! A few hundred dollars will get you in the door with most of them.

So I would say thumbs up on this one! Don't wait your money on the rest. I did just find another good one that is more of a resource center and has all the eoverstock info plus more. http://www.wholesalefyi.com. It is a bit more but if your starting out it is worth the small investment.

    I hope this helps,

    Etronixs!

Well, I will tell you that you probably did not buy all the lists, because you have not bought mine (or maybe you have and I just don't know it!). Anyway, I also reveal the two biggest reclamation centers in the country. However, you have to know what you are buying, and how to buy it..If you are a beginner to the surplus world, you, and your money will soon
be parted!! There are many twists and turns to buying surplus, and most of the big centers will rip you off if you are not careful. Dealers can be just as bad, but there are a few out there that offer good service..Bottom line, most beginners to Surplus buying, can't afford the seven pallet, or truckload minimums purchases most major reclamation centers require.

Furthermore, there are no hidden gold mines in the wholesale & surplus business. It does require work to find the right companies however. The only thing that I offer with the Ultimate Guide--is a one stop clearing house of online companies that specialize in Tax ID required wholesalers, and Surplus dealers that have enjoyed a decent reputation. No hidden secret sources, and no "Make A Million In Thirty Days" garbage. Can I guarantee that each and everyone of them will provide you with honest and great service everytime? That would be a resounding "No."

But, I do provide some simple instructions on how not to get yourself behind the purchasing eight ball, and protect yourself when buying from both types of product purveyors. Visiting the FYI website, it looks to me that they are pushing products that come from well known distriubtors like the "B&F" System, and "Hot Buys For U." I can't comment on the Surplus end of their information, but I would venture to guess that the two reclamation centers, or sources you are talking about are Genco and Federated. The other source might be Surplus.net. Also, if you have been to trade shows, and purchased all sorts of lists, then why would you need Eoverstocks, or FYI for that matter? You should have more than your share of information when it comes to product information and supply, if you have attended the right shows. Since I don't know what type of merchandise you specialize in--I don't know if the shows you attended, were of benefit to you..

The heart of finding most suppliers is trade shows. I know that most people don't have the time to do that, and I provide some online trade associations that have their member lists online. Not all trade associations do this, but there are some that will--and I tried to find them and list them in the Ultimate Guide..

I could be wrong, and have been wrong many times, but I think that Eoverstocks & FYI--both--look like they are cut from the same cloth, and basically provide the same information. I just might have to join them, to see what the quality of information is like--and see if your positive comments are warranted. And that is my 1 1/2 cents..One half less of the hot air I normally produce..

    Regards..

    hobit,
How are you my friend? I can tell you that Etronixs is pretty well versed in this business and already uses the two big companies you spoke of. As for the surplus companies, well.....I guess we've been through it. If you can find the good ones, you're still not guaranteed to get what you're looking for. There's also that info out there for people who want to purchase Sams Club or Costco merchandise also. I know you have that info because I sent it to you back when things were still a little fun. But as you have stated previously, it's not a gold mine no matter who you decide to purchase from.
I always try to tell these people to fly and buy or don't waste your money. Yet you see the posts here. People are going to take the easy route and then complain that they didn't get what was expected, etc. So I guess it's personal opinion as far as lists go. I know you spent a long time with your project and it may very well be worth the $$. For me, I don't buy them because I have many resources to choose from, which I'm sure you're at least partly aware of. Besides, I thought you'd send me one just to get an honest opinion. Last I knew we were still on speaking terms.
And please people, do your searching before contacting me about getting in touch with these major companies. I've supplied this info to several and still receive PM's asking.
If I can find this information, then anyone who gives it an honest effort can do the same. If you don't have the time for that, then you probably don't have the time to quit your job and prosper in this type of business. This isn't a get rich business, and will take you many weeks to get started and many more before you'll learn how to turn a profit. That's my post and opinion.....good luck all.
