I've been told that there's a lot of directory scammers that link you to broken links. Is this one??? -
Trust me it's not worth the money.
Here are some of the links they would give you if you subscribed.
http://www.dandh.com/html/nshtml/NSFront.asp
http://www.dbldistributing.com/ -
i don't know what you are looking for to be drop shipped but try http://www.dnbags.com
excellent customer service and Triple A quality items -
don't bother, the directory is not worth it. You would be better off to go to yahoo or google and type in wholesale company and would come up with more than the directory.
-
In my experiences in looking for the ultimate deal, I have found the best way is to do the old fashioned search through a search engine.
I have purchased a list before and found that they are the same links you can find doing a search.
Think about..... All of these lists link to web sites. Do you really think these sites only want to be seen in somebodies list?? -
Well, in regards to this post and the replies, I visited one of the sites that was said to be listed in this directory (http://www.dbldistributing.com/) and when I did I found some information that should say something about the Drop Ship Source Directory. Now, I am not putting down the directory because I truly do not know what it is like as I have never gotten the courage to trust it or waste my money on another directory. I did however visit the site above which is said to be listed in this directory and found that they charge you $75 to open an account with them. On the Drop Ship Source Directory's page it states that the companies listed in their directory do not charge member fees like most other companies. Well, this company does. Just something to be aware of if you are thinking of getting access to this directory. I mean how many other companies in the directory will charge a fee? Myself I do not think it is right to have someone pay just to shop with you no matter what the prices are. If they want your business they won't charge you to shop with them.

If you are looking for products to resale and do not want to pay any middle men here are a few to try, these are the 4 biggest ones that eBayer’s use.
http://bnfusa.com
http://hotbuy4u.com
http://premiumconnection.com
http://dropshippedtools.com -
The link for premium connection does not work. Do you have a good link, it would be much appreciated.
-
-
if you want happy customers and want to runa good smooth and honest business, you will stay away from dropshippedtools.com. The products havea high defective rate and the service is virtually non-existent.
You cannot runa business with these people as your supplier.
Just a warning but y'all do as you please, of course. -
You are a true asset to wholesale411. I have removed dropshiptools from my favorites.
I heard of hotbuy4u and bnf many times, but this was the first I heard of premium connections. Thus my interest in the link. Do you have any thoughts on this company? -
I personally know Tim from dropshippedtools and his wife Lisa and they are great people to work with and stand behind their products. They also sell a lot more than tools and yes, some of their tools may be inferior, however to generalize that all are would be unfair as they have many great bargains and supply nearly half the power sellers on eBay. They also offer warranties on products as an option as well. If you go to Tim’s site and then do a search on eBay you can see for yourself how many users are selling his products and view their feedback online.
As for the premium connection, as for Mark, he is a great guy to work with. -
I would not EVER spend any money on ANY directory whatsoever.
-
I have to agree wholeheartedly with all of your comments. I have learned through experience that you should, under no circumstances, pay for a directory. I firmly believe the entities which peddle these "lists" are middlemen. Albeit, they are not the typical type....which makes them all the more disguised and poised to dip into your profits. They charge you for information which you can obtain for free with a little research. I once read that you cannot start your business with assistance from anyone. You are your most valuable and trusted employee and must, therefore, bear the heavy burden of starting your company on your own. Which, in itself has many benefits.
As far as the Drop Ship Source Directory goes, it is a complete waste of money. To begin with, many of their "wholesalers" are selling discounted or full fleged retail and if you can stay logged in long enough to even browse their site for five minutes, you would be lucky. Not to mention, there are several companies that do not dropship the products they advertise on the site and more than one of them wants to charge you to open an account. You would do better to get Coppernic and search for variables on wholesale keywords and phrases.
The folks on this forum would not steer you in the wrong path purposely. They offer many helpful links and great advice.
-
I said this before and I will say it again.
If you are looking for all the wholesalers that mainly advertise online, you will find them within one month of diligent searching on a couple of the more popular search engines like google. There would be no need to buy a directory for these wholeaslers.
On the other hand, if you are looking to sell items that these wholesalers do not offer and if you are looking for wholesalers other than the ones that are wasy to find online, then a legitimate directory that is updaed on a fairly decent basis is not a bad investment if you know where to look for these directories.
When I first started in business, I could not afford the expenses (both the time epense and the money expense) that came along with finding wholesalers like traveling to trade shows, networking, etc. Not to mmention that at that time the interent was in it's infancy and there were very few wholesalers with good prices advertising on the web. After spending $10 bucks here and there for cut-rate directories, I found some directories that offered great wholesaler contacts. In the loing run, it saved me alot of time, heartache, and money. THerefore, in some situations (if you can learn to sniff out the fakes and find a good directory publisher) buying a directory is an excellent way to go.
Besides, as far as wasting money on all these bogus $10 or $20 directories, that is not such a big deal. Most offer a money back guarantee and you can always just take the directory and run. Just ask for a refund. If they won't honor the gurantee, you can always disoute the charge with your credit card company and most likely with if that guarantee in unconditional.
AS for the driectory in question, they do not offer an unconditional guarantee. The only guarantee they have is that every wholesaler in their directory is set up as a dropshipper. With their"guarantee" you will be hard pressed to win a dispute with your credit card company and you sure as heck are not going to convince the company to willingly gove you that refund.
Besides, even though some of the wholesaler's prices are high, the fact is, you can still make money selling through them if you know how to sell the item (and ebay will not be the way to go in this case).
The fact is, if you are looking for a dropshiping distributor that is going to give you low wholesale pricing that will allow you to undersut another seller that buys in bulk, warehouses his items, and ships his order himeself, you are dreaming. Logic will dictate that that is virtually impossible. No wholesaer is going to give you the best price if you are buying one at a time and having him ship it for you unless you are a mega seller and you can move his items in huge volume. Even then, yo'll never get the best price because you have to pay for all the shipping, labor, and supplies that you would normally have to buy if you were to warehouse and ship your own orders.
Bottom line -
Th edirectory in question is a great directory for any level-headed, realistic buesiness person. However, if all you are lookong for is to run an ebay operation and look to gain sales by undercutting the competition, *I stongly suggest you save your money by not buying the directory and also...keep you day job
You will need it. -
With the right amount of effort, you can bypass these dropshippers and buy the product direct yourself. Google is definately a good place to start, and by asking people in the industry you can also find some great sources. Personal opinion, these directories are being sold to anyone and everyone. Why would you want the same sources as hundreds of others, especially if you're going to sell on ebay or related?
-
While seeking a reliable dropshippers directory,we stumbled upon a great site at http://www.latinowholesaler.biz
Not only are they free but they also provide details on new wholesale products, entreprenuer news and post retail jobs as well.Although they promote themselves as a latino small business portal,we found it to be a great tool, especially if you want to reach the latino market for free. -
All!
To those who would say that they would never buy a wholesale guide, or any other type of information--I would reply "Never say Never." The reason I wrote "The Ultimate Guide To Products For Resale," is because of the lack of quality information about the subject. I found over 300 Wholesale & Surplus companies, in 12 different product categories that cater to all types of sellers. Saving people time and providing quality information is what I set out to do..
Now, could any of you find the same information? Yes, you probably could. But, do you have the time to go "Google Searching?" Can you search the web beyond the term "Wholesale & Surplus?" Got time to go to trade shows--and I am not talking about the ASD/AMD.
For those who---can--then do..
For those don't want to, or don't have the time to, there is always the "Ultimate Guide."

A good rule of thumb when choosing a directoy to buy...
If they are giving away bonuses to make the deal seem better, that usually menas that the directory is worth so little that the seller himself has no confidence in it.
I think the net community is becoming immune to all these directory and 'Guru" sites that throw bonuses and everything else under the sun. Why not make a kick-a$$ product and sell that.
HTere are only a couple of good paid directories out there and I have never seen them advertised/mentioned in this forum or in this thread. But perhaps that is because it is against the rules (I think). -
The directories will always thrive as long as americans continue to be wonderful and lazy. Everyone thinks they can invest a couple bucks and become an overnight millionare and sip their drinks under a plam tree while the money rolls in. This image is constantly pushed on infomocials, get rich quik sites and spam mail. It's advertisment is rampant that many people belive it can be done.
You have two real choices in life to make money:
1. work for the man and be nobody
2. work for yourself and get somewhere, but be prepared to work twice as hard as working for someone else.

Greetings all:
This is my first post after a month of searching for a forum where one can find candid reviews of wholesalers and drop ship list "vendors". The web is just filled with so much dishonest BS it seems imipossible to filter out something that is at least a neutral party.
I emailed http://www.mydssd.com the other day and it was complete and utter BS for the reply I got. Not only do they NOT have distributors for items I was looking for, but they also don't hav reviews for dropshippers on that site. That's the barometer I was using - to see if any dropshipping list site has reviews of their dropshippers. NONE, in my research, provide this service because most of the dropshippers each listing service lists will probably end up with bad feedbacks, 0 stars, etc etc just horrible ratings, erasing profits from the gullible. Furthermore, sites like http://www.mydssd.com always paint a rosy picture but never make mention of difficulties associated with DSing, like, "what happens if the drop shipper doesn't ship".
Heh, in as much as I've collected, the only people who make money dropshipping are:
1) eBay
2) UPS
3) Drop Ship list vendors -
So far it looks like there's no legitmate drop shippers without charging up front and monthly fees. I'm using online suppliers but I have had no business at all from ebay. Has anyone heard good or bad about online suppliers? Also, where is there a legitimate drop shipping business that doesn't over charge for it's "limited drop shipping inventory". They want you to charge 10 dollars for something that Fingerhut would give away as a free gift. Someone has to know something good!?!

Someone has to know something good!?!
Here is a suggestion:
1) Go to Yahoo.com
2) Enter the words "dropship supplier" into the search engine
3) Visit the dropship distributor with the most results on the first page
Membership fees are a dead giveaway of a company that isnt selling PRODUCT, only DREAMS.
Just my two cents!
Thx -
Dear lt_wentoncha!
I don't know of any directory, or list that can guarantee you a review of each and every company. Even companies that have good reputations, can sometimes render bad service. In terms of dropshipping...You can ruin your reputation real quick if a dropshipper does not deliver. In addition, the item that you might sell on Ebay--will usually have an "add on" fee for processing the product, and sending it to your customer.
This could dig into your bottom line, and you could wind up like most Powersellers--only making a few dollars on each item. And yes, not all Powersellers are making "thousands." Some, and I do emphasis some, are addicted to positive feedback, more then they are the monetary reward. Owning your own product (in small quantities) is always the way to go. Whether you decide to buy product at an Estate sale, Pawn Shop, Wholesaler, or Surplus dealer--you will have to buy in quantity--or buy single items very cheaply.
Regarding wholesale & dropshipping directories..I didn't write the "Ultimate Guide" to rip people off, or to sell added bonuses for an affiliate program. It has over 300 companies in 12 different product categories, and is 160 pages long. I included Mike Campbells & Yanik Silvers information, because they are the best at what they do--Internet & Offline Marketing. IT does not detract nor does it add anything to what is--in my opinion--an already good product.
As I have mentioned before, for those who don't have the time to search the web, go to trade shows, or subscribe to every trade magazine on the planet, then the "Ultimate Guide" is for you. For those who can do the work on their own, then you don't need it..
Here is one company that does dropshipping. I am not sure if this is the type of product you are looking for, but you can find out about how a typical dropshipping company works--if you don't know already..They have a banner on Wholesale411..You might already know about this product.

Good Luck..

Robit,
Nice to see you around again, and sharing your knowledge with people who can use it. It appears the "other forum" is quite dead since they decided to boot ole gvod off. I've had several e-mails from members of that forum who are pi$$*d about that move, and are most likely coming here now.
It's nice to see people coming together to help with honest opinions instead of spending the day bashing just to stay a step ahead. I hope you'll keep active here as there are many who could use the information you can supply them with. As I said, nice to see you appear again.
By the way, I could have that other forum rocking in 24 hours, but I guess I stepped on too many toes by being honest and straightforward. The only way I'd return is the almighty buck, which I'm sure the new owners don't want to part with.
411 is great, period!!! -

I was searching for some things on the forum and I came accross this thread and the post i made within it.
Yes. MMW is defintely right on this.
Dropshippedtools.com is not who I meant to warn against. http://dropshippertools.com which is no longer around (no wonder
) is what I meant to type. Very sorry about this. But I needed to correct this after I saw it because it just ain't right the way it is. For someone searching, it could leave a false impression.
I would appreciate it is the administrators/moderators here would edit/delete the earlier post in this thread which contains the typo as I am sure others would. too.
Again sorry for the mistake.

I have to say. It just goes to show that you not only have to do your own homework, but reading a post on a forum, no mater who it's from or what it may make you think, you can't take statements made about any one company on a public forum as a 100% judge of that business. Not only because mistakes are made but because anyone can post anything for any reason or for no reason at all.
