Hello I'm a newbie so I need some help:
I'm opening a store in Rome in wich I wanna sell urban wear such as Akademis, Roca Wear, Sean John etc.
Unfortunately there isn't an italian distributor of these brands so i don't know hot to buy clothes.
If I buy from a wholesaler what i need to sell the clothes in my store in Italy:
1) a receipt, a paper?
2) an autorization from the corporate brands to sell it in Italy?
Do u also know where I can find these brands? A manufacturer in Chine that I can contact via e-mail? A corporate office email of the brand?
I need a seller.

I don't specialize in clothing, but I did want to give you some tips if you are going to be obtaining your goods via the internet or meeting contacts over the web at least.
1. If you meet a wholesaler, make sure to research them and see if anyone else has dealt with them.
2. One way to avoid a scam is to use escrow (escrow.com is highly recommended). If the wholesaler suggests an escrow company that you've never heard of then that company may be in on the scam as well. Keep away from wholesalers trying to get you to use Western Union or services of that nature.
3. One thing about asking people who their contacts are, is that a lot of people aren't willing to share. They have done the research and it may have taken them days, weeks, months... (you get the point) to find these wholesalers and it is not customary to help out a possible competitor. Your best bet is to do the research yourself. Try a search on the board and be careful because there are a lot of people who will tell you they are a wholesaler and are actually a middle man.
4. I'll give you a head start, but there may be other people who know of possible wholesalers who are more speicifc to your needs. Try http://www.liquidation.com for pricing ideas on wholesale urban wear.

Just one other question:
do u know if i can sell the clothes I buy from a wholesaler, or something like that, in my store?
do I need an autorization to sell these brands in Italy (cos here there isn't a distributor)?

I don't know about Italy since I'm located in the US but the process in the states is that you have to obtain a resale certificate to sell products from a wholesaler or distributor. I'm not sure even if in Italy they have a County clerk where you sign up for the certificate. But I'd check in the morning with your local government and see what the process is.

If you want to sell items that do not have a distibuter for your country, maybe you should contact the manufacturer directly to become the sole distributer/retailer for your country. Perhaps this way you will be able to purchase directly from them with no middlemen. Just an idea.

Thanx sunhobo, your idea is what i wanna do, but I dont know hot to contact the manufacturer of the brand that i want : sean john, shady ltd, roca wear etc.
For example I contacted Enyce directly and I'm waiting for a reply from Akademiks. But for the brands above I don't know how to find contact informations.....
Any suggestions?
