I've been inundated with Chinese dealers on my Ebay listings

Hi,
I'm fairly new at Ebay and have been trying to find cheaper wholesalers. When I first started listing laptops I was scammed by a guy and girl here in NJ and it cost me almost $10,000. So, I set up shop again using World Wide Brands' info on wholesalers. I have some items listed on Ebay and I keep getting Chinese dealers sending me messages saying they'd like to do business and they have the best customer service and other things. So, I went to their websites and looked at their products and pricing was a little cheaper than what I'm getting here in the states. I told one of them I was going to wire money for a camera that was won on my listing. She sent me the info for the bank wire. I've had my doubts, so I started looking into things. Fortunately I stumbled on this site and noticed a thread about checking out Whois.com. So, I put the two websites in and find that the one who I'm supposed to wire to on Monday just signed that domain name up 11/02/06. So, my question here is: are these people trying to scam me? The other website I looked into opend 7/25/06 and the third one opened on 5/13/06. I can use anybody's help here who can help.
Also, here are the websites in case anyone has dealt with them, please let me know:
http://www.trust163.com (E-Town opened 5/13/06)
http://www.etc2008.com (Online Digital Mall opened 11/02/06)
http://www.adsmk.com (Adsmk opened 7/25/06)
Just in case it helps, they all sent me a message through one of my Ebay listings and the message gave their website, their email address and their MSN or AIM screen names.
I appreaciate any help you more experience people can give me on this. I'm still getting started with doing this for a living and I really can't afford to get ripped off right now.
Thanks,
Steve -
Once you wire the money, it is gone and no way to ever get it back. Credit card payments or escrow.com are safer payment methods. If you don't receive your merchandise, you can do a chargeback. Check with your credit card company and see if there is any protection if your purchase is in China.
When it comes to purchasing over the internet, I would rather be safe than sorry.
Trade Shows will begin in January and that is a good way to meet suppliers. -
hm.... well.... i would stick to the one i have right now if i were u...
maybe cuz i got scammed before...
twice last mth... ><....
was dealing wtih 3 companies...
sent the money all together..
didn't aware dat much....
da UK one... it's gone forever.... nth...
one chinese supplier: good
another chinese supplier: they actually sent us the stuffs, but all fakes.... rejected by the customs....
and they didn't want to ship again... and blocked our msg.... we left a msg on the website and said we will contact police
got half $$ bak.. and still waiting for 1/4 of the prouducts to be shipped..... to other places... not to Canada of cuz...
hm..... i would not deal the electronics bussiness with anyone who offer me such a low price...
afraid that it's not so legal~~~
i think the best way to deal with the chiense company is...
to ask them for phone #... well.... no no no...
i think they should have their address and # post on the website..
if they don't... don't trade with them then~~~
(you can check the phone # to see if the # is real or not..
but if they give u one # to contact them... that's not so gd...
since they can change the # anytime)
and for legal exporter...
they should have the bussiness lincece on the website..
like 浙ICP备06032066号 (http://www.rose-nail.net)
this one is a gd supplier... but $$ is so expensive..... i got my supplies from this company
some products are triple comparing to others.. but quality is better..
becuz they are verified exporters~~~
hm.......stop....typed too much...
don't want to make u bore... -
my rule with dealing with chinese is do not buy any branded items from them either electronics, sports , apparel whatever it maybe you are going to be scammed one way or the other with either no goods , counterfeit, or etc etc

NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER PURCHASE FROM PEOPLE WHO EMAIL YOU THROUGH EBAY. 99.99% of the time they are scams. If you want to find a legit wholesaler, you can search alibaba.com for "gold key" members, they are trustworthy.

I forgot to say, not to purchase from alibaba if you are interested in brand name electronics. Most of them are scams with false adresses and phone numbers. If you are looking for non brand name items then it is a good place. Also try to find "gold pass" members that have been a gold pass member from before 2006. It will say how long they have been a gold pass member. You have a much greater chance getting ripped off from a company that has been a gold pass member since 2006 over one that has been from 2004.

Never wire money either, that's basically just giving up your money without any security at all. With credit card or paypal purchases you may have some protection and security in your transaction, but wiring money you have zero and that's why many scammers only accept this type of payment.

Defintely only go through your cc through pp as above mentioned, anything else is asking to be scammed.

Agreed....do not do any Bank Wires. If you have delt with the firm for a year or two then go ahead, but certainly not with the first interaction.
Also, dustinbp96 is correct...you should not deal with eBay PM spam and emails. If the supplier program is a quality program they would market their program or focus on higher volume opportunities. If the prices were that great and they were spending most of their time on ebay sending emails, etc.....their time would be much better spent just selling the products on eBay on their own. -
Yep...its pretty much a given.
Wiring or Western Union = Should ring alarm bells.
