    Hello,

This is my first post. I am hoping someone will clarify to me how dealing with Italian supplier who provides paperwork looks like. I have never bought anything from him yet. They accept wire which is not a good solution for me. If this is a case, how can I protect myself against fraud? They want 50% wire payment in advance which would be around $10.000-$15,000 and when they will get it and block the merchandise for me they will allow me to inspect the goods. Instead of Fly and Buy I understand SGS may issue documents proving the authenticity, quality, quantity, etc, and other paperwork like sanitized invoice from resepctive brand owner is supposed to be provided but is there a way I can make sure I will not loose 50% initial deposit? It seems to me seller is protecting himelf but there is no protection for the buyer like me. Is it a totally risky transaction or there is some way I could be protected? As an alternative to wire he offered financial bank guarantee. Whave you heard of it and how it works?

Also can someone explain step by step how purchase of authentic merchandise with paperwork looks like?

    Thanks for your help :)

If I understand correctly, you must put a deposit of 50% of your order to be able to inspect stock. If so, I personally would be very leery of this transaction.

Sounds like they tryint to sell you handbags that are probably fake if you get them at all

the mob is alive and active in italy and one of their greatest new source of income is online fraud.

i wouldn't do it. Ask yourself this if they carry authentic items like this all the time most likely they move big amounts of merchandise and money all the time, how hard is for them to set up a different type of payment? well just another way to see things and to tell you you might not see your money again

For a company that carries bulk product worth thousands and only accepts WU you really should hear alarm bells ringing!

You would be mad to even entertain the idea that they will deliver. If they were legit they would have a Co bank account and would be completely transparent.

    Run...

^^^ Sorry i didnt read the 1st post correctly. Wiring money is still very risky. Try and organise an ICPO, at least you will be protected.

hello i own my own online store and i go to italy about 5 times a year
my best advice is to you is to fly over and inspect the goods first.
when i first make contact with an agent they sent me loads of info and price lists.
they told me you have to come over as stock goes so quick.
so i flew over was met at the airport and driven to the warehouses ,shops etc.
they told me to bring no cash as it was not needed, they put me up in hotel for night ,and drove me back to airport.
    when got back to uk payed for goods via bank transfer { i know its not the best but i knew they were 100 % safe after i been out there}
goods arrived to me in days.
what i am trying to say is fly out there check ever thing yourself cheers paul

Thankyou guys for your feedback, I feel the same way as you all do so I did not go through with it in this case. I have found a couple of suppliers who sale authentic branded apparel and accessories who allow me to pay with credit card and also provide papers. I totally agree inspection is one of the best ways to check someone out. Thanks again
