You need to have a product to sell...
When you see an offer look around for the same product on ebay, website etc and compare prices.
Is it profitable? -
Step 1: Locate and purchase product. ( Use search engine for best results )
Step 2: Determine payment methods. Ex: paypal, merchant acc. etc. ( Use search engine for best results )
Step 3: Find host for website/ecommerce. ( Use search engine for best results )
Step 4: Increase knowledge base of market for new products to sell. ( Use search engine for best results )
Step 5: Reduce customer/business related stress by drinking beer. ( Use local bar/liquor store for best results )

why dont you start slow. Start with a Home Page, Blog, My Space, etc. Get use to having a site online. Get use to updating content, etc.
You can add content about the product types that you want to sell. Create articles. Find new links or resources about these product types and add these to your simple content site. Practice adding google ad words to your site to get familiar with CPCs. Find new ways to get this site indexed and linked to online. You can have people signup for email alerts on your site as well.
Once you feel comfortable with this then you can look at selling online. You can use all of this great content to add content to your new web-store. You can tell your old blog or content mail list members about your new site to begin your marketing efforts. You can use the indexed content site that you worked on to send traffic to your new webstore.
etc...lots of things you can do to get started....but no need to start with selling products online if you still are not sure where to get a domain or how a shopping cart functions. Baby steps and slow steps and cheap steps are best at the begining of something like this.
