question about being scammed

I have been scammed through the internet like many of you have. Without going into much detail - I made the mistake of becoming a broker and using my buyers funds to pay for their merchandise. Well as many of you can guess the product never delivered. I am in the process of trying to get the money back but in the meantime have many unhappy customers (and I fully understand their anger) as they are still waiting for their product.

There is no way for me to repay this money all at once and wanted to send each of them a portion of their refund and continue to do so once every 2 weeks until each and everyone is paid in full. This should take about 4-8 weeks to do so. I have contacted the proper authorities hoping they can help me and am working on this. Whether I get the funds back from my supplier or not, I cannot say for sure.

I am asking if anyone has any suggestions before I email each buyer telling them the bad news. This was a hard lesson learned and from researching these boards I can see this happens often. I will NEVER sell a product again unless it is in my possession. I'm a bit concerned on where my buyers ill go with this, even if I am paying them back in smaller payments.

    Thanks for any input.

If you can provide refunds in 4 - 8 weeks, most people will be satisfied with that. There are people on this board who have been owed refunds for many months.

    Keep your customers updated constantly.
Let them know what you're doing to try and recover the funds.
Be up front, honest, and communicative with them.
If they don't hear from you, that's when they will get nervous.

    Sorry to hear that.

I was once also a broker. It's very hard to meet the demand.
As we a the middle man.

What I did is just keep the customer being informed.
Luckily, I never been scammed before, even as a broker.

Even though they're unhappy, but the items still being delivered to their front door.
Some minor glitch like customs checking always happens, because my customer don't want to give out his / her SSN.

    Anyway, best luck to you.
Always counted in the risk of being a broker. You carry nothing, but sweet talks. : )

Find a very reputable supplier, which can supply you constantly.
