How to become a dropshipper

I've found a niche that I love and think it would thrive online, if I could find a way to dropship the product as there really arent alot out there, at least that I found with good quality.

My wholesaler requires a $200 min. order placement for wholesale orders. I would much rather not keep product in my house and think if there is a way to become a dropshipper for the wholesaler I would love to do that.

Does anyone have any experience with becoming a dropshipper?

If i was you I'd spend the $200 if you have a gut feeling in this product. You will make more money and have greater control. Start small - think big ;)

While it's not etched in stone, the usual function of a dropshipper is to stock (or make) the product and ship it to end users on behalf of the store taking the order. If the guy you buy from stocks the product and will dropship to end users, who needs your service?

I agree with one of the last posters: Buy some product and be prepared to ship it.

Your most important consideration is getting paid by the store that orders from you. How will you collect payment? Credit cards? Monthly accounts? Can you afford to carry them until they pay? Can you afford to get ripped off by a few stores?
How will you handle returns and exchanges?

I agree with all that's been said here. I've been selling on eBay for ages and I've not found a way around shipping the items myself.

Drop shipping just doesn't work well. (not that I've found anyway...)
