I've been seeing alot of Rock & Republic jeans for sale on sites like Surplus.net etc. and was wondering if anybody knew anything about them? They are offering them wholesale for $40.00 per piece. Is this the normal wholesale price or is this an indication that they are fakes? The seller has no paperwork and therefore will not guarantee authenticity but he says that I will have no problem reselling them. I think I've just answered my own question but I'd like to hear anybody else's opinion on this. Thanks!

Why ask the question, when you already know the answer. Then why isn't the seller reselling them making boatloads of money?

The seller is wrong. You would have big problem selling them on ebay.

It is illegal to sell fakes. So that should be the botton line. Do you want to do something illegal?

Normally the wholesale price is half the retail price, especially on new fall lines. So retail is around $165 therefore the guideline wholesale price is +-$80,. if someone offers you half of that price, it should be obvious that these are fake.

Also I have heard R & R are on the VERO alert at the moment?

    Good Luck!

retail stores [especially on fashion brands like Rock & Republic Jeans] usually triple their money. so if it sells for $165 in stores, the wholesale price would be somewhere around $55

why do you think they have so many sales in the mall, at times up to 50% off... they would be losing ALOT of money, but they triple their money normally on clothing so thats why....

On designer denim, the markup is 110-140% usually -- triple the wholesale price is extremely rare. Diesel Zathans, for exmaple, are $190 retail, and $88.38 wholesale. I know for a fact that this applies to Seven, PDC, Diesel, and Antik, so I imagine this pricing structure is the same for R&R.
