"Is it legal" section / design copyright?

    I was wondering if this section existed and disappeared or I was imagining things again ... Anyways I was looking for info pertaining to design copyright and the such. Any info or links would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I was looking for information that had to do with clothing or accessory design copyright. From what I understand copying a design ... say of a handbag is illegal. But how much needs to be different for it to be "legal"?

    It all depends what the IP owner has protected. For example, Oakley has copyrights/trademarks/patents for the design of their glasses. If IP owner has some unique material, style, button, whatever makes their product stand out, they can make a filing. There are some things that can not be patented.

    Now I have to remember where I have put that source that spells it out. I will hve to get back to you on that. I know there are 4 areas of protection. It may be in the Fake section. I will have to search when I have the time.
