    Hi

I am looking to create a laptop dropshipping company.

Countries avalible for dropshipping products would be USA, Europe and Australasia. Basically Western Countries and Asia.

Who would be interested in using our services if you made around a $200-$800 profit per sold laptop?

Products would be Mid-High End laptops from Toshiba, Dell, IBM, HP, Sony and any other good laptops I can get my hands on.

Just seeing if the idea is a good one. Please reply with your views.

or send me a PM if interested.

I would be interested ... it would be a great introduction for someone looking to get into business with minimal cash onhand, and I am one of those :). But when referring to $200 - $800 profit are you referring to street prices or are you referring to retail?

    Yes does include Canada.

Well just basically most laptops sold would make around $200 at least per sold laptop.

I get them direct from the top branded companies like Toshiba or IBM and so prices would be low. This means a laptop like Toshiba Qosimio costs you around $1200 would sell for $1500.

    Looking forward to your views.

fast some things which I would think about (when I would sell laptops):

    - language of the OS (engl, french, german)
    - guaranty
    - different bus bar
    - shipping costs
    - import taxes
    - payment options

there many things you have to think about.

How about the warranty for final destination country? US warranty is different than international.

Some units carry an international warranty..not sure if thats the case here..

I just fear the thought of a laptop dropshipping service personally, not only will it drop the prices down on the laptops that are on ebay right now but over time if you stay open, your prices will be the "average" price on ebay. Then when everyone finds out they can make $200 on each laptop, they start flooding..the price goes down, the competition goes up, and nobody wins but the manufacturer and the buyer... my 2 cents..

Unless you made like a maximum each customer would buy per week or something..like limit it to 2 orders per week, or something along those lines..

Laptops come with 1 year international warranty.

Shipping would be cheaper via FedEx or USPS. Fedex for me has been 10 times more reliable and quicker so we would set up an account for shipping.
Costs will be around $75-150 usd per laptop.

Customs Duties we can't pay as it is differnt for every country. The end customer will most likely have to pay these if there are any.

Payment options will be Paypal, Credit Card, Wire Transfer

For the differnt types of laptops eg: Language keyboards and USA specs differnt to UK specs, we would have like a website that has the amount in stock and whether it is US spec or UK spec or whatever.

The thought of this becoming a ebay source would actually be great for me but I hear what you are saying. If we did get too big then we would have to limit the sales.

Its great to hear your feeback. Keep it coming.

I haven't been selling on this forum. I have been working for the last years selling mobile phones and laptops to bulk buyers. Most users on this forum are not the clients I have been selling to.

I would give you infomation on past deals but I have asked my clients and they do not want that sort of infomation to be out in the public because they could get spammed or loose sales or whatever the reason they just don't want that infomation to be given away.

I was just emailed by my warehouse that they have received 100 Dell XPS Gen2's, we already have buyers for 20 of them.

Min order 10 right now, payment via T/T or Paypal, Price lowered to $1350 if you buy 10 - including the shipping price.

Shipping via fedex with tracking and shipped within 2 days of payment.
Once fully setup, shipping will be done on the same day as payment.

Doesn't anybody apart from me agree with Mason's comments?

This is a great idea, but in the end the sellers will have too much competition, this could ultimately lead to the failaure of your business.

It's just an idea, but it should be something which you think about before starting the business.

Maybe you could offer the laptop dropshipping service to only exclusive members.

These are just ideas of course for things which you should think about before you go into business.

Yes I know I said I will dropship but right now I am in the process of setting things up.

I have 80 Dell XPS Gen2's left and so I want this stock to go as quick as possible.

The min order is because it is cheaper if you buy bulk. Bulk orders have free shipping as well.

Remember I am in the process of setting up and so once I have done that then we can start making smaller orders.

In regards to Mason's comment and others like it. I do reconize what it could become and yes I will find a way to limit sales. Contract basis or Cap rate per registered user will be the obvious choices right now. I would rather prefer a seller who sells around 5 a week to be included than the casual or one time seller.

Loving the great response. Keep it coming.

You said earlier that you will accept paypal...

Do you have any idea what mess you are going to get yourself into accepting paypal and drop shipping the goods?

You need to do some research on paypal scams, verified accounts and shipping to confirmed addresses before you assume you'll accept paypal.

    Good luck.

what i would suggest is that he screens his clients and limits them, if he gets 3-5 good clients selling his products on a consistant basis, the competition is low and the sales would be decent. i for one, am VERY interested in this. paypal does not like drop shipping but... as long as both parties are responsable.

    Love to hear your responses.

Paypal is my payment method right now. I know about the scams and fraud that can be done through paypal.

Paypal is used a lot for ebay payments so to have my sellers on contract or similar (exclusive members) is a great way to eliminate that fraud capibility. Credit card payments would be able to made as well just not right now.

Other payment methods avalible would be T/T.

Any more ideas on what possiblilties there are to not flooding the market place but to provide great prices to a select group of members. All of you who have contacted me would be able to purchase and be allowed exclusive membership.

Update on whats happening: We are getting a great response from this topic. Trying to fastrack setting up so that you can start selling and making money as quick as possible.

If you are dropshipping and all 3 parties are involved with paypal there is no way to protect yourself.

You may have an great relation with your reseller, but its about who he is selling to. I should clarify that you probaly will not get any scams but your resellers using you as a shipper have no proof of delivery. Then your reseller could file the same non delivery his buyer did and you have no proof of shipping any goods to your reseller since you dropshiped to the end buyer.

I am curious why you are even bothering with this. There is great demand on high end electronics already and setting up a dropshipping company for laptops is an extra hassle that you do not even need. You should be able to find a few people to buy any and all of your laptops if you do not want to deal with the end buyer...

Heck you only need one serious buyer to take your stock off your hands in one buy at the wholesale price you would offer to 10-20 people for dropshipping...

    So why all the hassle???

I don't completely understand your view Jabba but I know basically what you mean.

I can prove that the item was shipped to the seller because with the Fedex shipping, it provides tracking for orders and so basically I send the information to the reseller and he can foward that infomation onto his buyer.

Paypal is not the best transaction method used as I know but it does work when you have a trust between buyer and seller.

Members need to have a good reputation before I start allowing them to buy and resell from me.

My understanding with paypal is no third parties.

    The buyer pays for goods.
The seller needs to provide tracking from his home to the buyer.

    Dropshipping goes along these lines...

    Buyer pays.
You get a order to ship to buy from your reseller.
    You ship to his buyer.

So there is no tracking from buyer to reseller and you cannot provide tracking from you to your reseller if things go south.

Paypal wants tracking from seller direct to buyer... I don't think they care if you provide tracking from some third party...
