I was wondernig if anyone has ever had luck selling things from sam's club on ebay..I have never been in one but wondered about it...can you go in and just look around without having a membership?

I think you can get a one day pass. Call Member Services at 1-888-733-7267. Or just go to Membership desk. I think the basic is $30 a year. You will need your resale certificate if you want the tax exemption. But they have some great business services like credit card merchant accounts. Sam's has different buyers than Wal-Mart, so products are better quality.

Not attempting to hijack this thread but this also may be a question of the original poster.
Has anyone had any luck buying overstock from Sam's, Costco, or any other wholesale club? I'm not sure what they do with thier overstock products. Costco at least carries some nice clothing...... Polo R/L, Nautica, CC, etc. I'm not sure that you can make a profit when buying at their asking price but if you could get a quantity discount?????
It just seems strange buying overstock from a company that seems to buy overstock. -

the answer to your ??? is that , their is only one company that is authorized to sell, but i can't say who they are because they are a great supplier of mine and i'm an authorized distributer for them ,i have a contract with them, and "yes, i can proove it". just in case anybody is wondering, not just anyone can distribute for them, you have to be screaned by them and they do a background check. so if anyone tells you that they are an authorized distributer for them ,ask them to proove it with a contract, yes you can recieve a discount for large orders , if interested then email.

"correction "they do not sell overstock ,they buy new -
From what I have heard, can't guarantee it, they often have a buy-back clause with their suppliers, so the goods that don't sell go back to the manufacturer.
I've alos heard most of what they buy is on extended terms, 90 days net, with the buy-back deal, so they've got 90 days to sell stuff with no investment. What doesn't sell goes back. -
I've heard the exact same thing. Sams and Wal-mart pay suppliers for ONLY what crosses their scanners. Everything else that they don't sell, gets returned to MFR, then liquidated for 50% of wholesale or lower. I know many people who buy products this way.

Sams & Costco Overstocks are very nice. You get a lot of the branded apparel for fairly cheap pricing.
As for buying from the stores themselves, you can do that too. Remember when furbie was Hot hot hot. Well, I was in Sams Club and some guy bought out three rows of those furry critters to re-sell and made a small fortune. -

Might be hard to pull that one off. I have looked in Sams many times, their pricing is in most cases is really just discounted retail. If you find a unique item, or as myweb says a hard to find item you may be able to.
We have no Costco here in KY, but I have heard on other forums that they are cheaper, at least on dvd products than Sams.
As a sidebar, I was browsing thru a sellers feedback one day and saw he got a negative because "I found the same thing $75 cheaper at Sams". Yes this was wrong of the buyer, but welcome to the wunnndddeerrffull world of eBay. -
That rules. What a business model they have... and the size and financial muscle to pull something like that off.

Yea, but it may not be a positive for society. Their biz model has cost a lot of jobs. It gives us low prices, but at what expense. Used to be they called a business with that much power a monopoly.
I heard yesterday that their employees are the largest consumers of medicade. Meaning the tax payers are footing the bill for Wal-Marts health care. -
They employ 1.3 million people, with a 44% turnover as other retail sectors, so I'm not surprised.

Also home depot, but with home depot the supplier take the hit and they lower the price to get rid of the stuff, home depot buy from them and pay in advance except on all of there plants, they pay for what cross the scanner.
