Hi all
I hope this is posted in the right location.
I was wondering if anyone knew some of the common tests to verify the authenticity of jeans from clothing companies such as:
-Levis
-Armani
-Wrangler
-Stone Island
-Hugo Boss
If anyone knows any websites which explain to me how verify these products can you please tell me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated -
buy only with papers
-
How would an inexperienced buyer know if the paper is geniune or not? Couldn't these papers be copied and signatures forged?
-
yes papers can be faked too
-
I sent sometimes the item to the brand owner. I made only good experiences with this method.

Here is a good test to run:
Buy article of branded clothing and follow the below steps. Use the same article of clothing for each step. It will take some time to complete but you will be surprised at the answers you will get each time.
Step one: mail in the article with all tags attached and a letter stating you bought it on eBay. Wait for results and the clothing back.
Step two: Remove the tags and say you bought it on eBay from a user that said he bought it wholesale. (Send mail in a different name and address)
Step three: With all the tags removed, also draw a blank line through the inner tag name with a black marker. State in the letter you bought it from a wholesaler. (Send mail in a different name and address)
Now compare your letters/results and be prepared to be amazed. -
You've obviously done those three things. What were the replies?
I'm guessing that for (1) they said if it was bought on ebay then it is a fake; for (2) they said the person on ebay is lying; and for (3) it may well be authentic but they can't verify it. -
yes plz tell us the responsE!

Anticipation….LOL
Each answer was completely different. I was totally floored by the responses.
This test was run with two different Brands and all replies were different.
With the first brand owner:
1. This reply took the longest to get back and came back as authentic. (full tags)
2. Not Authentic
3. Could be authentic but they could not verify it.
On the second brand owner that was tested:
1. Authentic
2. Not Authentic
3. Could be authentic but could not be verified.
You really should try it. It will make you think.
Ok, your probably wondering what ever made me think of such a crazy test so I will tell you. I was selling an item of apparel that I knew was authentic. A few customers of mine questioned it after receiving feedback on eBay saying the item was not authentic from buyers of theirs. You know how everyone is an expert these days. Anyway, my customers decided to verify for themselves the authenticity. Some brought the items to the stores and some sent them away to the brand owner.
After each customer did this they would call me to discuss it with me. Out of all that did this, one came back saying it was not authentic. This really stumped me so I decided to see what would happen if I ran my own test. I asked a couple of people to join me and here we are.
OK, call me crazy but I’m going to try some more brand owners and see how it goes.
