anyone here making $$$ of charging people to list items on ebay for them? i've seen advertisement around here locally about people offering to come, pick up, take the items and list them on ebay, then you get a % of the total ending price, less the ebay fees and etc... basically, they hand you an item, you list it, take your cut, give them a check.

i'm in a pretty well populated area here in tampa, fl . i'm seriously considering doing this. anyone done it?

I don't do it personally, but I know of a few businesses around here that have sprung up and seem to be doing very well at it. Give it a try. I bet you'll do pretty well at it.

My wife and I are trading assistants. It's not a huge part of our business, but it is a nice supplement. We probalby make around $500.00 a month as TA's

90% of my business is selling on consignment. The key is generating leads. If you can let the world know you sell on consignment they will gladly pay your commission to sell for them on ebay.

So what fees do you guys charge?

I presume the owner of the goods pays the ebay fees and the seller / TA receives either a set fee or a percentage of the selling price with the owner receiving the balance?

Can some of you people confirm how you work it and if possible confirm the fee levels that you use.

I have played around with the fees and usually go on a case by case basis. Generally I charge 25% of the final selling price under $5,000 and 12.5% from $5,000 and above. Vehicles I charge 10% or $2,500, which ever is less. Most of the time I charge the seller ebay & paypal fees but sometimes I don't. Depends on the situation. I have even started charging 35% for the first $250 lately and have learned that sellers don't even blink at these fees. They are happy to make money and not have to do any of the work. They get a lot more through me than selling at a garage sale.

We charge 30% plus all fees. We have a couple of customers that give us a lot of business, so we give them a break on the commission. One thing to watch for is the people who will try to bring you worthless junk and expect it to make them rich.
If you're going to sell as a TA, it's VERY important to do your research before accepting any items. If you decide to do it, I have some GREAT contracts and paperwork you can use (different and more in depth than what eBay provides)

I am also in Tampa and just started doing this but most of the emails I get from Ebay people are wanting me just to sell junk, and I deal more in high end designer used clothing & purses. But I am just starting to get my TA business going...so we'll see...

I would also like an email copy of those forms. You can PM and I will send you my email address.

I just added the seller assistant title to my ebay account and I had a local guy email me about selling his toy collectibles. I am going to try and contact and since this would be my first seller assistant deal I was only going to charge him 10% plus fees, but it looks like that may be a little low.

    Any advice would be great.

Hi, for some reason when I try to send these, no one receives them. I dont know if it's my firewall or what the problem is. As soon as I get it figured out, I will send this out to those who requested it
