Does it mean that it is fake?

I purchased several lacoste shirts, and I'm wondering if they are fake. I have read other lacoste posts but they still do not answer my question. The lacoste shirts I purchased are made from a very good quality material, and the gator tags seem ok, the only thing that is strange is that the shirts do not ahve a tag that says where they were made in and from what materials. there is only one tag by the collar and it just has the lacoste logo and the size. So does it mean that it is fake?

If quality is just OK then probably fake...
Real lacoste is very nice quality.
If you plan on buying alot in the future, order a real shirt online for comparison. -
the quality is really nice, and i compared itto the ones at macys, they look very alike, it's just that there is no tag saying where it was made and from what materials

look if u see something prices from 8.4 to 14 its 95% likely to be fact...ive been researching on lacoste/RL for a while now, and ive never come across an authentic wholesaler...specially a wholesaler who has a continuous supply..but hey if u like to buy fakes and only care if it looks good then thats ure problem...a lot of people do it...but its annoying when people such as some of the wholesalers here advertise goods as 100% authentic when its blatenly fake, they are taking a !@#$ of people....if you sell fake goods and dont claim anything then thats ure business, but if u deceive people then thats no different between you and a scammer.

galactoce, I am not necessarily defending them, but some of them, may not be any more knowlegable than those on here buying as to whether they are fake.
I used to be able to tell you I could spot a fake dvd by just looking at the cover art. Not any more. Recently on 411 there was a seller selling out of print disney that appeared to be just like those that where at one time sold in stores. Security stickers and all. eBay is currently flooded with them.
My advice is that if you are interested in buying from someone and want to check it out first, order a sample. If their sample amount is to much for you, ask for the eBay id of someone who is already selling their product, check out feedback and order 1 shirt.
That may save someone from getting stuck with 50 shirts.
I ordered a LaCoste shirt on eBay once for personal use (as a child of the 80's and Reaganomics, I have am sentimental about the little gator), before I gained some knowlege from the forum. The appearance and feel of the shirt was great. However it fit more like a size smaller and was paper thin.
I believe there are probably legit dealers of RL, because his stuff is saturated everywhere. You can buy it at 50% or less of retail at Sam's.
LaCoste, I have often wondered about because they are so protective of their product. A lot of high end stores cannot get them and T.J. Maxx does not have them. T.J. Maxx ususally has tons of surplus stuff, but I have yet to find any LaCoste. In fact I only know of 2 places in Louisville to get LaCoste. One of those is Macys. There are a couple of Macys in Louisville and only the one in the most affluent part of the city carries them.
When Izod had the liscence, you could find it at T.J. Maxx. I was told by an Izod rep that LaCoste pulled it from them because they had saturated the market, thus devaluing the brand. In short, to LaCoste it is an image thing. They want it to remain upscale, only for yuppies. That is probably why I have seen it posted that people have been told by eBay reps that LaCoste is the most aggressive at Vero and protecting their brand.
So who really knows?? -
lol, of course wholesalers know if they are selling fakes...!! they would know when people start complaining about them, and they would know if suppliers talk about new products "under production", they would know at the cheap price they are buying at, they would know from the fact they dont get any paperwork, they would know the fact that the products are shipped as sample, they would know from the fact that some of the complaints would be by those who say about bad quality, stitching, etc., they would know from the fact that they are getting made in peru shirts from hong kong or made in romania shirts from hk, its obvious...and many people think so its just they dont speak out while people get ripped off when they think they buying authentic...

i know a few wholesalers that have sold authentic lacoste polos... but they weren't an ongoing supply... but a few have sold these, and 1 is selling them right now...

I agree that this shirt is fake... galacoste, I hate to start anything here, but I can honestly tell you that have have bought both authentic and fake shirts from wholesalers and it is hard to tell the difference between them because as per a post I believe I saw here about lacoste, their are many inconsistancies in them. It seems to me that you have been burned and this is why you are saying this? JMHO It just seems that you have had too many bad experiences with wholesalers. Although I have been burned and they all have their thing with them, there are a few good ones.
As for TJ Maxx, thanks to market segmentation only certain areas get certain items, same as with Marshalls. I happened to be at Marshalls the other day and found children's lacoste and letigre, I almost bought them all but they were asking $18 a piece so I decieded not to. I did buy one boys for my nephew of each and I can tell you that looking at the tags on that, and the tags on the lacoste and letigres that I got from my wholesaler i see no difference. -
Well i just want wholesalers to be honest with their products, dont stae 100% authentic when they are not, dont say 100% authentic with your money back when they are not, dont continue to claim when they are 100% authentic when its obvious they are fakes, you the one looking wonderful....do some honest business and stop liening with your claims, thats what im seeking for honest wholesalers being true with their products.

I can sympathize with you, that's totally understandable. I went through it with Apple Bottom jeans that I bought from Infinity's partner and I didn't have any idea until someone told me that Apple bottoms only make sizes 2-14, so I was getting sizes 0-20, total fake items even though they looked good, they had me selling bootleg items telling me that they were authentics when I had no idea because this was a new hot item and all I thought was that I had a good wholesaler who was giving me great items that were good sellers! Not for nothing, after all was said and done was when I realized this and I was furious because he was completely overcharging me for the bootlegs, I would have been willing to pay that price for authentic items, which I thought they were, but they weren't. I understand where you are coming from with that, but don't think that all wholesalers bootleg, because they don't.

yeah exactly, there are also some wholesalers who are and have been selling fake items at authentic wholesale prices, its riduculous...and i just dont like them taking a !@#$ off buyers, specially those vulnerable college students and home-stay moms who expect the real thing, and when they sell on ebay on to realise people complaining about their products, it happens to often and needs to be stopped.
i just cant believe some of the big names which i have mentioned before continue to take the !@#$ of people and you know whats the funny thing, they will come on here and write an essay response trying to defend themselves. they are probably of how to respond to my threads and will come up with their bla bla bla bla, take some responsibility and admit you are selling fakes.
ive actually spoken to one guy who runs a garment factory that produces cotton t-shirts (plain) and he did tell me that most of the fake factories in india, such as those that supply trinity distriution and other brokers here hire kids and play really really low wages. plus they use bad quality material and for example if u buy those lacoste polo shirt, after some weeks ull see they will shrink and the lacoste alligator will crumble, that does not happen with a tru authentic lacoste shirt. -
I for one would like to see people start to think out of the box, the market is flooded now w/people selling A&F, RL, lacoste..and me being one of them. Like someone has asked, "Where are the true wholesalers of legit items ?" I would like to think some are here amongst us,while others choose not to use forums like this to sell ther merchandise. My point is you really need to dig deeper and ask the right questions. For example, Where does sierra trading post get their merchandise? Have you looked at the quality of their items,someone is offering them high end clothing at affordable prices..why can't we get our hands on that merchandise. Attend a trade show like MAGIC or Off Price,see what is available,create a website to sell what others aren't offering...quit following the herd...and blaze a new path.

the only reason why u see things like AF, Lacoste, RL is because fake factories want to make money, so why not produce garments of brands which will be the most profitable? thats why most wholesalers who broker there products from india/china get them easily, becauses its easy to find the source.
why do u think most of these wholesalers get AF, lacoste, RL? its because its easy to get and its the most replicated brands out there, Even the AF stuff on the forum is fake, all from china fake factories, whats irrating is people are thinking its authentic.
common, if a product has "irregularities" such as mispelled names, messed up tags, etc. u dont need to be einstein to work out they are fake... -

I am truly doubtful that they exist. Surplus maybe, constant supply is hard for me to imagine.
These high end fashion companies do not want their product sold on eBay.
LaCoste isnt even in many high end department stores. Obviously that is not due to demand.
It surprised me when Ralph Lauren and Liz Claiborne showed up at Sams. But have you noticed, the arent at Wal-Mart. I bet it is in the contract. -

I am definitely a bit shocked at few others here but am not shocked by the parasite, this is a person with an agenda and we do not know for sure what this is; until we take this to a small claims court.
We are not looking to win or have any type of a serious case. We just want him liable as we definitely have grounds to and not get this case thrown out of court. This I can even tell you myself without waiting till 9am for my lawyer to come in to work.
All we want is Golactose In court.
He can file a case against me just the same and if he has the money to paint me the way he sees me and gets a brand owner to take down the product then he will only be hurting the 1000's of long term customers who depend on us and love us just the same.
We offered a $50 credit on next purchase for posting a real experience and look at what turned out. Please notice the role this individual took in a thread he had no place in being and we had a choice in getting him banned from it but we did not, we have nothing to be scared of and do not mind negativity posted .We just can't have such a uninformed and uneducated person like Golactose, causing us to lose money on a lawyer or lose money in orders from new costumers who will fall for his Blah, Blah, Blah. We have other businesses and are not about to have one little sector of our operation kill our reputation. This is simply a business venture are using as a stepping stone to bigger & better things.
You think it is easy to provide such service?
Do you think that this is possible with out a quality control team?

To be honest I believe that he would have to stop until the case is finalized & I also believe it will be taking place where the business in question is located.
I mean look at some of the unsuspecting new members who are falling for this, not everyone knows how to research and evaluate what someone’s agenda is even if they say: I do not sell, buy or do business while trying to kill off competition.

I just got in from the Airport & need to rest, when I get few hours in me I will get up & contact my lawyer. I will get back with what we are going to do about this speculation from the parasite who thinks he is some sort of an authority because he talked to this wholesaler who told him these things &talked to the others wholesalers who told him something else.
The two people who we owe money to or did something wrong with can contact me like everyone else and get there problems solved immediately just like everyone else. Don't embarrass yourself by having such a person represent you & come to us to get your resolution.

Now I am going to give you advice Golactose & this is the only time I will ever refer to you at all, after the way you acted I am simply doing this out of professionalism:

If this individual wants to file a case against us for any reason that is fine but these will be two separate cases, two separate issues and two separate bills for both of us unless the other party has the choice of free public defense.

I would like to apologize to Robert of Surplus masters for any offence I have caused. It is true, Robert is a great guy who takes care of his customers and is not a scammer like other people on the forum. I would like the forum moderators to withdraw the posts i have made against SM under the Is it Fake section. The attack was uncalled for as i have nothing PERSONALLY against Robert, although I have an issue with the supplier. What i have said is not true regarding his company as SM provides the best electronics, jewelry offers on the internet. In some cases, i have actually defended SM if you look under one particular thread where feedback on SM was given. Robert seems like a nice guy and it was inappropriate for me to take out my anger on him as I was angry with one particular company. I do not have an agenda but just a bad experience in this business and i know other people who also have been scammed. Surplus master is not a scammer, and you can see from his feedback that many customers are happy. There was no reason for me to attack him when i had undergone a bad experience. SM has numerous ventures such as SplitBuy which are great ideas and i do not want to jepordize these. All my claims i made were inappropriate and i would like the moderators to delete them as i would like to retract them.
