Ok my friends, you all are the experts. I went to Macys yesterday, and from appearance it seems hard for me to tell. I found this seller with all positive feed back in the past year. The operate very professionally as far as marketing, etc.
So does this look like the real deal to you? Because they sure do to me.

It does look real in my opinion, and was going to say that to you...until i checked his other auctions :

The only way (IMHO) to get an authentic lacoste off of ebay, is when ebayers buy them for cheaper than retail at the Lacoste outlets on sale then throw them on ebay. Other than that, you really WILL never know. I'm not saying at that price they have to be fake, but the chance of them being authentic are slim to none.
My 2 cents. -
fake
those are not made in peru, i believe they are made in Hong kong or india, either way the logo on that shirt is not as good as other "peru" fakes i have seen... ask the seller for a close up of the logo and compare to the logo on a store bought lacoste -
Mason, what did you see on his other auctions that gave you that opinion. I am only asking because I looked at his Polos (I am more familiar with the Polo because I own about 15 of them, bought at stores) to and they also looked authentic.

Well as you know I used to wholesale Ralph Lauren shirts to ebayers, and local merchants for about a year. I'm out of that business now, but I still have an eye for the clothing in general. The conclusion I made was based on the sell price he had them for (I know its wrong to base authenticity on costs, but i'm just stubborn i guess, I know the difference between black market[fakes], grey market[stolen], and authentic[licensed] goods). I've researched it to death really and unfortunately i'm out of that business for that exact reason. The facts I learned after selling them for a year scared me out of the business.
With that said, being out of the business, I don't consider anything authentic unless its licensed. Black market [Fake] lacoste is all you'll find on ebay. It can't be authentic [licensed] because wholesalers can't touch this from Lacoste distributors for less than $45.00/piece (I have this quoted from a licensed distributor who asked for a MOQ of 5000 pieces). It can't be grey market[stolen], because of the small amount of factories Lacoste uses. They barely use 1/3 of the amount of factories that Ralph Lauren uses so they have more control of what goes in/out of there factories. I'm not saying its impossible to get grey market Lacoste shirts, but it's damn near it.
But anyhow, after seeing the RL polo's he sells, I know they're fakes as his RL's are fakes. You can tell by the coloring on the shirts. If you look at the collar & cloth where the buttons are, the coloring is different than the rest of the shirt. Another one is if you look at his Red RL Polo, you'll see thr horse only has 3 legs. That's an easy way to tell knock-offs. So if he's selling fake RL's, whats stopping him from selling fake lacoste..
This info about the lacoste is based on what this distributor told me, it could be false, but thats what i'm basing my info on. If you do find an actual authentic lacoste though at the prices they go for on ebay, PLEASE let me know...I love these shirts, I got a few from MsGkyGrl from these forums last year and I still wear them...
Hope this helps!! -
In his description he says - Care Tag Inside the Shirt says "DEVANLAY". This is not always the case for the real McCoy as most of my real Lacoste do not have that on the care tag.
The fakes he sells are available wholesale on Alibaba.com. -

There is also a big fish on here.

You're very much incorrect. I own 3 Lacoste polos that I purchased from Nordstroms (designed in france/made in peru). All have Devanlay written on the care tag inside of the shirt. That is a known fact. -
Perhaps he has some Vintage Izod Lacoste?
-
You're very much incorrect
No, I'm very much correct. If you buy a Lacoste shirt from an official boutique in Asia it will NOT have Devanlay on the tag. I should know, I used to work for the distributors in South Easy Asia.
Of course, you've bought 3 Lacoste from Nordstroms in North America so you're automatically an expert. Not. -
I'm checking to see if LaCoste polos are shipped poly wrapped. If not that would be an easy tell that its not coming from their LaCoste factories.

All designer clothing are obviously shipped polybagged to protect the clothes from dust or any other damaging conditions. -

Not true. Don't make a broad statement like that. I worked at SEARS and that was not the case for polo shirts. Yes for dress shirts but not the SEARS brand polos. -
In the Boutiques here in Bangkok they polybag the Lacoste stuff after you have purchased it.

hahahah because sears brand polo shirts are like 10 bucks. lacoste shirts costs $72 so they are definitely going to polybag them for protection. Do not compare Sears Polos to Lacoste Polos. You think they just throw a bunch of lacoste shirts into a box and ship them to the stores? eh...i don't think so, some kind of protection from dust, friction and wrinkling is needed. -

I understand that. I knew that college boy you would make that reference. But that was the only hands on experience I could bring to the table. I work with facts and back them up and not use assumptions. Just because you believe that is what they should be doing does not make it so! You are making assumptions without exploring or backing it up with facts. I'm just stating if I can confirm either way I would bring it back to the forum.
Can you back up your statement other than "definitely going to" statement or is that what you believe Lacoste should be doing? -
I can say with certainty that Lacoste made in India shirts are polybagged. I was just recently in a 100% licensed Lacoste boutique in India and the shirts had the polybags. What was interesting, though, is that only half of them had the crocodile / lacoste on the bag. The rest were just plain bags.
