    Hi all,

Got a couple of questions as im new to selling imported clothes. I have found a guy who will import some clothes from China, the only thing which im concerned about is how does the procedure work and what can the consequences be if something goes wrong for example, it goes through customs. If they hold the item back can i get it back and what reasons can they hold back clothes for example.

Also can there be any charges which i have to pay to customs or any way around it. Im just hoping to get the items straight from asia to myself for me to sell of.

Also another quick question what is the best packaging to use for say clothing and where can i purchase large amounts for a very cheap price?

    Cheers

    hmm my two cents?

Some suppliers in China can be very good. But it depends on whom you are buying from and what you are buying.

It Cost me 6k due to being scammed by a chinese company so i should be the first to say dont do it. However i paid by bank wire transfer so there was nothing i could do when the supplier went bust.

If your supplier offers paypal (and yes some do despite their claims) or another form of credit card payment then you may be better using that option.

    With regards to customs...

They should have no reason to seize your goods if they are authentic or the declaration is correct. If you are buying fakes then you might loose the lot. If customs do seize them, and they arent legit- That's it! They're gone. Then there is also the possibility of legal action against you in that case i would imagine.

If they seize them and everthing ok it might just be that they are delayed a little. I sometimes have items from Europe that have been checked at customs- i know nothing about it untill they reach me with a marker saying that they have been security checked or something.

You should say who the suplier is maybe someone here has dealt with them, and can let you know the good or bad if any.

I have said this before and say it again! The greatest test that I have used to determine if a product is fake or not is this: If your supplier can provide you with what you want WHEN you want it, then you will know that chances are good that what you're buying is fake!

So when suppliers contact me and offer me goods, I ask them first if they can supply me so many pieces of the exact same thing every week or so. If they commit, then I know something smells!!!!

I think China will hav e more and more good chance for ebay user, as Because now for China sellers are not very easy to receive money from Paypal, cause CHina 'goverment policy, but a news said that Ebay was talking with China for the ebay and paypal problems .
so then I think in the future will be more easily .

and also personally I also had a exprience which with an New US Customer whom purchased from me of clothing, sunglasses etc.
so finnally we accept Paypal for the payment , I had spend the USD1000 for the transaction fees on paypal for his first order of 9800 USD amount, even though I just hope we can long term corporation.

so I think it will be much better in the future as now CHIna is more opening to the world for supplying for the stuff....

Don't buy from China if they don't accept Escrow or Credit Card.

If you pay with Paypal (not using Credit Card), it doesn't mean that you are safe !!!

Cause once the seller (if fraud) drain the money, you can't do anything and paypal will not give your money back !!! if you use Credit Card, your CC company might be able to do a claim back.

Thanks, and Good Luck for all your business.

A supplier in China that will only accept wire transfer is your first warning sign. China is notorious for failing to protect intellectual property, thus most exports (especially in clothing) that you will find through the internet will be fakes. With no recourse, you are screwed!
