    Hi,

We use it on our site. Basically you add a list of keywords, such as for our site: clothing, designer, converse etc... key words that will get a lot of hits eg designer clothing... you will be charged more for, so if i go to google type in designer clothing and your site comes up, then i click the link you will be charged. But so it doesnt get out of control ie. 1000 people search designer clothing and click your link in a day, leaving you to owe a lot of money....you can set a daily budget. The more your daily budget is the more likely you will come up as No1 in the sponsered link....

    Hope this helps a bit...

I'm not a fan of Adwords. All you are paying for is a click on to your website. I have asked many people, in many forums and groups I subscribe to, if anyone can give me figures or percentages in increases of business and income verses the expenditure of Adwords. Till now, no feedback. I'm a small manufacturing, importing and wholesaling business and its important to me to know the effectiveness of every dollar I spend.

Going blindly into any advertising campaign without thoroughly researching whether it is viable or not is not advisable. In the main, those selling advertising or advertising campaigns are doing what we all are doing with one distinct exception... we offer a money back guarantee if our products dont work. Google could possibly do themselves a huge favour by conducting a Poll of former/current AdWords users and compiling some kind of statistical list to give more people an idea of whether Adwords could be viable to their business or not. After all, I stand behind my products, why shouldnt they?

Overture is an alternative to using Google adwords. Overture will allow you to have your ad on all major search engines like yahoo, alta vista, etc. where adwords only appears in the right hand side of google.

You can submit your site to any search engine, and it is free. Problem is, you need to know what each search engine is looking for. Many people aim their site for Google. Just when someone figures out how Google ranks sites, they up and change the algorhythms for their search engine compilation...how they determine who is #1.

The safest bet is to make sure you use plenty of keywords on your pages, submit your site to search engines, and use sites like wholesale411 to advertise your site.
