My question is, why do the tags say skinny polo when that is clearly not a polo shirt?

Yes, but I also saw wrong tags on Store merchandise. I washed one and still fine.

Looks very much like a counterfeit Ralph Lauren to me....

I am 99% sure - Unless it came from a totally USELESS Ralph Lauren factory.

    Cheers!

While I couldn't say with any degree of certainty that the shirt is fake, it doesn't look particularly well-made. Note, for example, the button plackets, both on the front and on the sleeve. See those slight pulls opposite the buttons? Not a good sign. Then again, might be different when looking at the shirt itself rather than a photo of it.

(I've quit buying from non-authorized sellers.)

I am not a prof on this, but have a close look on the riders. I also had one of those, completely with US dollar tags, made in Hong Kong.

When I compared the same look a like as this one with my own shirts, bought at different shops the rider doesn't look like the others bought in shops.

This one looks like much fatter, fatter back etc.

Maybe some more experienced people can give some feedback on this.

Gee, and I thought that was just standard on a RL item, third rate designer clothing that it is. Never bought a RL item where the zipper didn't break, the hang tag didn't rip or the material fall apart in a few months.

Well, it's probably time to stop shopping on the counterfeit aisle. ; )
