    Hi,
I was wondering if it is legal to sell these on eBay? PS2 and Xbox are modified so you can play back-up games on them. DVD players are modified so they are region-free (meaning you can play DVDs from all regions on them).
I always thought they were illegal to sell until the other day when I was searching for "region-free DVD player" on eBay and it returned couple hundred results. Any help would be appreciated.

Microsoft could probably VERO the auction if they wanted, but most likely they wouldn't.

I would suspect that in the end it is perfectly legal. You just need to advise your buyers that the warranty is completely void and the units will not be compatible with Xbox live.

Nope. You can't. Well, you can but they will eventually close your auctions and give you a warning. Next time your suspended. I think DVD Players are ok, but not consoles.

Read eBay's Modchip Policy under their millions of terms & conditions.

    You cannot sell:

    Game Enhancers
    Boot Discs
Modchips, or anything allowing the use of backup or import discs.

Yes I have tried to sell a modded xbox on Ebay. I sold it, but after the sale I got an e-mail from ebay saying next time my account would be suspended. My friend had a few reccomendations on the matter.

To find the modded xbox sales they must search for keywords. If you post your ad in a large low quality jpeg, they cannot search it for keywords. Or try using words like special instead of modded, or upgraded, etc.

Havn't tried any of these and I was just selling my personal XBox anyway. But I suspect that if you really wanted to cheat the system, you can.

Just a side note. SOME Xbox mods are legal. As long as the BIOS isn't flashed to play copied games. The mods that allow you to run Linux are legal. Then again just because it's legal doesn't mean ebay allows it. I just did a search for xbox linux on ebay and there are none listed which tells me ebay doesn't allow it.
