I want to contribute something i know in this community. Im the coldfusion developer, because the reason i help my girl friend to build a ecommerce business. I step in ebiz.

Because I just help my girl friend, and i don't get a dime on it. So i don't pay a dime on it, but i spend my time. So i can't promote my gf's site with pay per click, or submit to paid directory. How can my site's survice? My site earn over $10,000 in 3 orders without shopping cart(under construction) in this month.

Now let's get start it

First, you need to investiage your competitior's site. How? Go to your favor search engine(Yahoo, Msn, Google). Type your Keyword to find your competitor. If you are selling gas scooter, find gas scooter in search engine. Find 3 competitor's site in each search engine.

Ok, try search "link:www.competiteorsite.com", then you will see a list of your competitor link to. I suggest try this on yahoo or msn instead of google for better result.

What you do now after you get the list? You try to link your site with the sites that list on the "link"www.yourcompetitor.com" by email them or some of them have link management system, like linkmanager.com program. Try to find sites that relevant your topic.

Second, submit your site to the relevant directory as much as possible.

Some of the paid directory worth to pay. But my topic is discussing free way, so i will not talk about it further.

maybe you submit one to two directory is not help, but if you submit alot of them, the power is unbelieveable.

My girl friend's site selling waterfall pictures, you try the keyword "waterfall pictures" in google. 4-5 redirect pages link to my site in the first page on Google.

Third,

View the page source in your compeitior's site, investiage their meta tag, title or design. This way can help you create your meta tag or title.

Alot of people making a big mistake, they like to put their company name in the title. That's a waste in my opinion. I assume you guy not the big company like costco, walmart. Some of you doesn't have B&M. I don't think my customer try to find me with my store name. Even they did, your contact page should have this information. Your customer will find you anyway.

I suggest you put your bestselling items in Title.
Like mine. Gifts Wholesale: Waterfall Pictures, Led Pictures, Neon Pictures

and your home page should have the keyword(in my case, waterfall pictures, led pictures, neon pictures) at least 3-4 times. Also, i recommend your keyword have a link to your product page.

Third point, i assume you guy selling at least 10 items online. Your product page's title should not the same. The description should not the same.

Your site should have sitemap, that can improve the PageRank.
