    Howdy,
I have been searching and searching for some genuine brand clothing myself. It has been difficult since there are so many people willing to sell you fakes. I have been trying to put together a "white" or "safe" list of vendors on this forum who have good feedback and seem to do business in a professional way. The bad news is that I have not actually done business with any of these vendors. However the good news is that I have researched all of them and have spoken with many of their owners. I hope this information helps you start out on the right foot. Please give back to these forums with more information on your dealings so that we can all share in your knowledge.

Have a great day and Rock on.

    blah blah,

I'm not out for charity work yet, im still young.. when im old and bored ill volunteer. RL prob writes there 10% loss off anyways, the dept stores are making 40-50 dollars profit on these shirts that are made in Sri Lanka, im out for myself... and i really don't care if damy sells this kind of stuff, he's making money, im making money, people are getting good product for cheap, and the only people that are loosing out are the dept stores that ive supported for years. No more retail BS for me...

One day when you or a family member has cancer (I hope not!) you will understand why charity and Cancer trust funds are important.

Dont be so selfish and self centrered.

the insurance i pay for with my t-shirt sales will pay for the treatment. so im not worried.... im not selfish, i just have my priorities straight, there are so many charities and donations and people that want money to be donated out there.... its all a scam, THe non-profit companies in this country make out wiht more money then most for profit companies...

dont' even get me started on the insurance companies...

Zhenjie don't worry kids like this get theirs in life with attitudes like that. Just remember kharma, what comes around goes around. And it ALWAYS comes back around if you live long enough.

    Dear Zhenjie,

The kid might be naive, but he hit a nail somehow. Numerous Cancer Charities are ones of the most shameless in wasting money. Not only they spend a lot to provide their officials with a very pleasant lifestyle, but quite often research projects they are supporting are a pure waste of funds, or worse - are harmful. The famous (or infamous) March of Dimes is one of the worst. I know what I am talking about from inside, so to say. My husband is a biologist who is working in this field and involved in the process of grants reviewing.

I am not a kid for a couple of dozens of years. <sigh> I AM dealing with cancer in my family right now. I am raising a very sick little child, as well. That's why I am here, on this Forum, trying to earn money by reselling stuff, forgetting about my degree and diplomas.
Do you seriously think I would be shedding tears over Ralph Lauren generousity? It is very kind of him to donate a minor part of his profits from inflated prices... and to save some more from taxes.

Zhenjie, please do not take it personally. I have a great respect for you, your honesty and your principles, if even I am not always agree with you.
It's just one should make a lot of research and gather a lot of info before he/she gives his hardearned money away to some charity.

Galenabound, it would be so beautifully simple if it had worked this way. I mean "what comes around goes around". I assure you my 3-years old had no time to deserve what he has to struggle with. There is some truth in the saying you have mentioned, but life is much more complicated than that.

Sorry guys. Usually I do not participate in discussions, this one just hit a right spot, I suppose.

    Bless you heart, Zhenjie.

    Hi Julia,

I can understand your view regarding charities, and too an extent I'm sure we all realise that some charities and trust funds do not live up too their names.

When I was younger I spent 2 weeks in critical condition at the Royal Childrens hospital here in Australia. This hospital is largely funded by donated funds and volunteers. I would probably not be here if it wasn't for such kind acts of generosity.

What I find disgusting is the behaviour of individuals such as danbseattle and djdamato. He actually expects people to believe he is 35. Too me, thats a pretty poor attitude he has there for a 35y/o.

I still believe Pink Pony should not be sold other by Ralph Lauren (even if it does give them a marketting edge).

I knew you would understand. The very existence of volunteerism and charities is one of a few things that justify using the word Humans for such creatures as people. I am trying to follow "think globally and help locally" motto. Can't volunteer anymore because of lack of time, but keep a small list of my favorite charities, mostly local ones.

Danbseattle might be young, or just angry. Hopefully he will have chance to understand that giving is a very rewarding thing to the one who gives, after all.

As for RL, such decisions are made for improving a social image and/or avoiding taxes. I am not dealing in this brand, but if I do the pink pony dilemma would be probably the least of my considerations. We can "agree to disagree" on this one. Let's hope the pinkies will do more good than harm.
