Hi all i read this forum everyday and find it very very useful. I started in the cologne/perfume biz and it is doing fairly well. I want to start importing though different items from China. I have relatives who have been in china importing/exporting faucets, and can source any product for me at the lowest price. Any ideas what a good product would be to import to the US? Any comments would be helpful thanks all

It's depend on your budget and the risk you try to take. You can do furniture business. Like selling designed bar table, chair. They are not too big, unlike sofa. Selling something that less people selling.

I deal with this company before via the trade company. I ordered the resin fountain from them and doing very good on it. What do you think how much it's worth? How much the table worth? You can request some small samples from them for free. But you need to give them your ups account. Im not suggest to doing this. Becuase the ups's fee is much higher than the value of the product. Last time, they send me the picture and cost almost $200 usd on the shipping. If you have a container in china, they can send it to your container.
Actually China makes everything, from low tech to high tech. There is nothing that can not sell, only you don't know the way to sell. If you do good in marketing, everything can doing good. -

Be careful when you import furnitures from China, read this:
"In the largest-ever anti-dumping case involving China, the U.S. Department of Commerce has proposed preliminary duty rates ranging from 4.9 percent to 198 percent on wooden bedroom furniture imports from China that total more than $1.2 billion a year."chhchung wrote:But you need to give them your ups account. Ouch, you gave them your UPS account?
There're hundreds of shipping companies in China, they can get up to 40% discount from UPS/DHL. Next time tell the supplier to find a local Chinese shipping company instead of charging your UPS account. -
