I know search engine spiders probably crawl 24-7. Is there a way to get them to come to you site when you make changes to your site?

When you say make changes to your site, if you would be creating new pages, link to them from your homepage.

In the case of Google (the only one that really counts  ) the more often you update content, the more often the google robot will visit.

If you update your site and Google crawler notices updates it will be recrawled sooner the next time. If when it crawls your site again your content has changed it will again be revisited sooner.

Of course this process isn't quick at getting your site updated more often but resubmitting your site to Google ain't quick either. Apparently if you resubmit your site to Google through their "Add a Site" too often you could be penalized.

Also having links to your new pages (assuming they are new pages) out "there" in the big old internet will often prompt a spider to re-visit.

I really like this site http://www.seo-guy.com for info on search engine optimisation.....
