I have been researching possible import brokers to help me deal with chinese manufacturers. I do not want to become an import specialist myself but I do want to work directly with manufacturers. I found this company, Gang of 4 Imports (http://www.gangof4.com) that has several import programs that seem very attractive. I was hoping someone has heard or dealt with Gang of 4 in the past. Any thoughts/advice are appreciated.

    Thanks!

I have dealt with Gang of 4 Imports. They are great! This is a relatively new company of prior eBay sellers who got tired of the product acquisition runaround. They are definitely worth contacting.

STAY AWAY! If you know what is good for you, you'll stay away from gangof4.com. They screwed me royally and they will do the same to you. Take this as a warning. BEWARE!

His actually right too you know. Think about it Importing is a professional business. So I mean sites that have that kind of name don't really show any professionalism(not always true but try to bare with me). Would you buy from a company called "Smack My Bi@$ IMports" or "Daddys Pimp Cane Wholesale"

Also checking the site its a plain I personally wouldn't...

i guess the best thing i can say in response to this thread, as president of Gang of 4 Imports.com is HAHAHA! ;)

    i too am LMAO.

if you must know, the origin of our name is this:
shortly before our business was formed, several homes on the block of the owner were vandalized by gangster posers. the owner photographed the mark before it was painted over. when the business was actually formed, there were 4 main contractors in the business. the term "gang" refers to a group, or a club. connotations are that of underground strength, independence, non-conformity.

the owner implemented the mark he photographed into the logo of his business.

i find it humorous that the word "gang" immediately gives you visions of pimps. i wonder what your experience is with gangs, and your knowledge of etymology.

just on another note of names for businesses: i wonder how many people questioned the name "coke." a drug, or a beverage? does that stop us from drinking it? or...snorting it? a name is a name. we can't judge a company or a person, or anything by its name, can we?

oh, and just a P.S. beapepper220002 has never worked with Gang of 4, but we will still give beapepper220002 a free consultation. :)

auctionbrain--we look forward to hearing from you.

auctionmaniac--thank you for the vote of confidence. ;)

This is the WORST FORUM I have ever seen. You are all so concerned about policing the world, NOT helping others. I'm out of here and won't be back, so shoot your wad. I won't see it and neither will anyone I can steer away from here. Bye!

You better search for a "REAL" import helpers like who can give you preference and who have stations around the world.

There are some and they are not a secret.

Hah, looks like a fleeting attempt to get some advertising in.

Then they couldn't take the heat.

Real professional and so mature.

Well, not exactly the responses I was expecting although it was nice to see the owner/president(?) of Gang of 4 reply to this thread. I was hoping for some outside helpful advice. I think I will just go ahead and contact the company and try to see for myself.

    Thanks

Thsi thread is going nowhere because there are no legitimate claims or fact being presented and some (no offense to anyone) are just plain irrelevent and wrong. Here they are...

    1. auctionmaniac comes here and his very first post is to tell us that GangofImports is legit. No real facts to go on, just a statement that they are good. You just can;t do this in a forum. Your first post cannot be like this. You have to either first gain credibility through hanging out here a while or you have to give us facts that canot be debunked. PERIOD. ANd then, auctionmaniac has the nerve to say...

Any of you people spouting off have any actual experience with them? Facts please!

What about you. HWhta about your facts. How do we know that you are not Gangof4 just posting under a new name. IP address you say??? BULLLSH#% - I canc hange my IP at the drop of a hat and it can be an IP address from anywhere in the world. Easy to do and anyone can do it if you just do some research on the internet on how to.

    2. beapepper220002 - same as above. No facts to back up. HOwever, in the case of a negative post, one has to give some slack because they migh currently be involved in a lawsuit therefore it would be dumb to expose your identity and give specific facts. That's life.

    3. Gangof4 says...

oh, and just a P.S. beapepper220002 has never worked with Gang of 4

Seriously. Do you think that beapepper220002 would have doem busienss under the name of beapepper220002??? C'mon now. The only way you could know if beapepper220002 has or has not done business with you is if you have only a couple of customers and all is well with them.

    4. Feye: what does GoDaddy have to do with anything?? Godaddy is a reputable domain name registrar and many people use them to buy their domains. The reason why is the WHOIS info shows GODADDY and not the actual buyer's name is becasue the buyer chose to pay godaddy and additional $9.95 for the security option. Basically, they hide your info from unscroupulous hackers and other criminals. Yes, it is awaste of money because you can just change all that info to whatever you want anyhow. I have all my WHOIS info set to 'PRIVATE" and I pay nothing fo rit. Not sure if somehow I could lose my domains somehow but so far, so good.

And lastly, I like to coment on...

This is the WORST FORUM I have ever seen. You are all so concerned about policing the world, NOT helping others. I'm out of here and won't be back, so shoot your wad. I won't see it and neither will anyone I can steer away from here. Bye!

See ya, doooood and don't let the digital door hit your !@#$ on the way out. First you give no facts to back up your supposed good transaction claims with Gangof4 then you leave with a bang like that. You make yourself look shady and Gangof4 as well. If you are legit, then you would not let others' negative posts get to you. After all, you're making money with Gangof4 so who cares if others bash them or not, right?

"Shoot your wad" - BWAAAAHAAAAAHAAA! Make sure you close your eyes, pal. Here it comes!!!!

PS. One other thing on the subject of consumer perceptions. You cannot compare branding rules of small businesses to that of large multi-national corporations. They can basically tell people what to think (and they do). THey can brand their bsuiness and prouct with just about any word and with the proper million-dollar ad and marketing campaigns, they can make people see them in a positive light. The small guy, on the other hand must be careful and conform to the mindset of the consumer because the small guy does not have the creditbility or the bank roll that the big guys have.
