Ebay to acquire India's #1 marketplace...
http://investor.ebay.com/releases.cfm?Year=2004
Oh great. Maybe now they can just outsource all thier "support" to india just like everyone else. You think support is bad now, just wait until you get the same canned responses from a barely English literate Indian ebay drone. -
may god save us all

On the plus side, they will be able to expand my listings to India so long as India will take PayPal. On the downside, most people in India are too poor to purchase luxury items like nice watches. That isn't to say that most people in India don't have watches, of course they do, but I doubt someone in India will be will to pay $17.90 including S/H for my cheapest watch.

Dont underestimate the buying power of indians.
There are 2 economies that run in India
The Governmet and the non Government.
Most Business owners, Small and big, will not declare their full income and the ITO (Income Tax Office) has no way to find that out. Most businesses will give you back 3% just to take cash and not credit cards. Why because that money can be part of second economy
I wondered when will ebay expand in India. I have perfect stuff to sell in India shipped from India -
Coming soon.....
Ebay of nigeria, and they only accept stolen credit cards for payment.
Ebay seams to have bill gates mentatly lately. Owning 95 percent of the world isn't enough, lets go for 100 percent. They must have never heard of monopoly, but I'm sure you can buy it on ebay for a penny.

BWAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!
AS to the abov estatement that it may open a new market for US sellers. I don't know about that. A person from India can already go on ebay (US) and bid on an aution if the seller is willing to ship to India.
Furthermore, about the PayPal thing. It will be an international order so there is no buyer or seller protection what-so-ever.
