One thing I have learned about Von Dutch is that they label all of their hats differently. Some have Made in....tags some dont, some have big von dutch labels inside and some have smaller ones. They really should standardize it for all of our sanity.

I've just received an order of 20 hats which I was promised were authentic. Now, I have 5 different colours and they're all the same style but simply have the von dutch badge on the front and the kustommade logo inside. They also have the tag that says Made in Korea, 65% cotton and 35% polyester.

If these are authetic then they are so basic that they could easily be copied. Does anyone know if the above criteria meets authentic caps?

P.S. They are the ones with the cotton front and mesh back in colours pink/black, light blue, dark blue, brown and red.

I don't know if they are manufactured in Sri Lanka; however, I do know that they also manufacture them in Vietnam. A friend of mine owns Manhattan Ave. in Garden Grove, CA. They are an authorized retailer of Von Dutch Originals (their store is listed on VDO's website), and I have seen Von Dutch hats with "Made In" Korea, China, and Vietnam tags.

Market stalls all over Britain are selling counterfeit Von Dutch T-shirts and caps and now the guys at Von Dutch in the UK have called in top law firm Simmons and Simmons and issued a warning to all to watch out for the fakes. Katie Morrison from Prelude, the licensing company which controls Von Dutch distribution in the UK, told us that the counterfeits are easy to spot. [u]"If you see anything with the Von Dutch name on it selling in the UK for less than £50, it is a fake."[/u] and that goes for caps, T-shirts, bags and any other merchandise. Customers are being asked to be vigilant and inspect labels - [u]all Von Dutch's UK products are manufactured in Portugal and this is clearly stated on its labels.[/u] Also, Katie Morrison recommends that people take the time to check the qualty of the pieces: [u]"The washing instructions on the fakes are often a giveaway - make sure you inspect these before you buy."[/u] If you spot dodgy VD, Prelude asks that you call Katie on 020 7580 9984. There have already been dozens of calls to the hotline and the chaps at Simmons and Simmons have issued letters to some stockists of illegitimate Von Dutch pieces, warning that they will be taken to court if they continue to sell counterfeits.

Not always the case Hermes Lover. I've seen large retail shops here in my local town that have all sorts of different labels and places of manufacture.

By the way imlost, cld u show me a picture of the front of the hat plz?? Does it say made in korea, china, or somwhere else??
