I still don't see any profit margin. I'm sure most people would rather just pay the extra $30 to get a factory sealed NEW ps2. And if EB is selling refurbished ps2s for $149.99, we couldn't get a profit except for maybe a $1 on these.

And you can get refurbs on ebay for the same price or less, and most come with a free game or so.

The special price must be something only found in a few areas as every walmart down here in Florida is still regular retail.

And EB and Gamestops both carry refurbished systems, which are tested and gauranteed to work or your money back. $136 for refurbished systems when you can buy them retail for $149..... sorry but that price seriously sucks.

I know of a guy selling the refurbs for just under $145 includes shipping, you can also get them at UBid's superstore right now for $139 and $2.49 shipping. Not as cheap but you don't need to buy 1K units.

BTW, the units EB are selling for $149 are tested USED consoles, not factory refurbs.

Like I said, Not to knock a man's price. But add in shipping to the $136.00. Where does that leave you. Not much room. Please do not get me wrong, $136.00 is the best price I've seen so far. I was just making a point that most people sell online in here. As independant retailers. Most consumers are not going to pay the same price on line. When they can drive to their local store and buy it . Get it the same day, A very liberal return policy, etc. I mainly sell nintendo . I have yet found a good deal anywhere. To be honest. I can buy them at my local blockbuster and discount stores when they have sales cheaper than I ever found. Now blockbuster has a trade-in deal on their new releases. So I bet they are going to get into the used dvd market too. All the local hollywood videos around me started to deal in used video games, They have a seperate store devoted to video game trade ins. Used systems, etc. Their prices are cheap. I can buy them cheaper from them than anywhere else.

I'm not aware of Wal-Mart selling them or $149.99 for the short time but if they did, it was probably just for the Thanksgiving weekend and using them as a loss leader. Wal Mart doesn't sell refurb PS2s so Im guessing they were selling the new ones for $149.99 for the weekend to draw customers.

I never saw the Wal Mart flyer that advertised PS2's for $149..they are still $179.94 at our local Wal Mart. These are refurbished units that were store returns that have been sent to a Sony authorized refurbishing plant and they come with a 6 month warranty. The only store I can find selling refurbished PS2's and X-boxes are Electronic boutique and Overstock.com..and we sold Overstock the units they are currently selling. Electronic boutique is selling their refurbs for $149.99.

$149 at Walmart was a few days sale only. There at $179.

But refurbished X-Box and PS2's go for $149 normally at major game chains.
Don't think I can find that in the cushions of my couch.
