The fee is a downside. I never like to see the programs charge a fee. I wish only deposits were charged. However, they do get a lot of applications from users who only want to see price lists or get access to price data or even if they have a Tax ID they might only be creating the account to get access to order products for themselves. Also...they might have had a high number of people who only want 5 to 10 products to post on ebay. Creating an account setup and credit review, etc does have costs and support time. Having the application fee is their attempt to limit this cost because people selling 5 products a month will not want to pay that application fee. However, they are a legit program and have low prices so the idea is if you are a serious reseller and want to promote 100s or 1000s of their products then it is a small price to get access to a great program and a large catalog with good prices.

Having the Tax ID is also important. I know of few if any real Dropship programs that do not require Tax IDs. The scam sites will not want to take a tax ID because they are really making money on fees or selling products like a retail site so they want as many people as possible to join and want it to be easy to join. A big program will ask for the ID to prevent novice resellers from trying to create an account. A real dropship program is a wholesale based program and a real wholesale program sells to resellers who sell at retails. Therefore they are already selling to business and these resellers should have the ID.

I agree that many programs do not (and should not) have any setup fees, but most if not all will still want the Tax or Business ID. If you have a program that doesn’t take the ID then you have those middleman programs like doba and other which just hide the supplier data and program details to make it seem like they are the true source. These programs use their tax ID to create the accounts. You are just selling products FOR them and not FROM them and they profit from the orders and fees when they contact the actual program to send products to your clients.

The only downside is that that require a tax ID number and an opening account fee of around $75 I believe.

Many other dropshippers don't require a tax ID or setup fee.

Well, the shipping that I have directly experienced through them was on time. It was sent within 24 hrs from the order and the shipping followed the shipping estimates. Most suppliers will let you rush or standard ship so you can track it with UPS and FedEx, etc. As long as the supplier gets it out that day (or 24hrs) I am happy because then shipping is the job of the shipping company. Also, with work we have set people up on DBL with customized data services from all over the US and Canada, so I am not sure how much their shipping times are the result of the service that the customer ordered or how much is the result of the distance between them and the customer....but.....I have never heard of a shipping time complaints from customers regarding DBL since the workplace started working with them a few years ago.

DBL is a great supplier. They have one of the largest wholesale dropship programs and have a high quality offering. If you go to some of the industry events and shows you can meet the DBL team. We have worked with them for the past few years and have never had any complaints from our members about their program.
