Since then I have contacted IBM and asked or requested the information on how to become an Authorized Dealer. They referred me to some very big companies of which I haven't actually heard of. I have contacted them and looked at their prices which don't seem pleasing but they said that if I wanted a big quanity to then sell in small quanities, I would have to contact IBM directly and get authorized to do so. <br /> <br />The big plus is that the companies I have contacted are in USA and so shipping through customs and whatever is not going to be too hard to get round now. Another good thing is the shipping time will be a lot faster and the shipping cost will be less. <br /> <br />I am still working to set this up but as I have said before, don't expect anything this year. <br />The reason why I have taken soo long is because I didn't intend to start this business but the large response started my "ego" and also suppliers taking time to give me information and then the problem of scammers and also the major problem of trying to get 4000 or so laptops in differnt models to then sell off to you. Payment issues will be a big problem but I'm sure most in the USA would be happy doing a domestic bank transfer. Like somone said, nothing happens over night. The title of the post says everything, he had an idea and wanted to get feedback from everyone of this 4um about setting something up and if it would be a good thing. People responded fairly well so he is trying to get everything up and going. He has to deal with suppliers, payment methods etc...If anyone thought that this would be up and going in no time then thats your own fault. You also have to realize that its Oct and its xmas time. Alot of Companies and suppliers are very busy around this time of year so setting new things up might take alittle bit longer then usual. I would be surprise if this was up and going before Jan 2006. I know everyone wanted to catch the crowd this dec but dont worry they aren't going anywhere they will be back around next year. <br /> <br />To the guy who keeps blasting cam on the 4um, if you read this post and then ran out to your customers trying to sell them laptops you dont have or had no clue on when everything was really going to be up and running 100% sure thats your own fault. You say your time is money and you can't wait...well it looks like to me you can because you keep posting on here, lets face it if you had other options then you would ignore everything and move on to them. If Cameron had been set up and established and then kept putting you off that is one thing. However, if you give options to buyers of course they are going to want all the info and jump on good deals right away. Any smart businessman realizes that. Therefore it is yours and my mistake if we take information without verifying that everything is ready to go and try to sell something that we don't know is real. That is why I recomended earlier that no one try to set up any deals until Cameron could get up and running. I have spoken with his supplier and he was a real jerk to me. That is why I told you all to wait and see. As I guessed, there are problems with the supplier. Until that gets straightened out we are all playing the waiting game. The diff. is that some of us were smart enough to not try to market it before we had evidence that it was working and real. I don't mean to be a pain but it really is your own fault if you have people jumping down your throat. Like you said. Of course they would they were expecting product in the near future. Open your eyes and realize that that is how Cameron is feeling tward his supplier. If you can't wait thats fine, we understand. Move on! no one is stopping you! However, don't blast Cameron when he has been nothing but honest about the whole situation just because you made offers that you could not back up. <br />One last thing. I did the same thing you did. I marketed them to ONE of my buyers. This buyer was looking at buying 1-2000 units per month. He wanted to close a deal about 1 month ago. However, we went to the source of the problem which was the supplier. We know that it is not camerons fault. He made it very plain from the beginning that it was first of all something he was just looking into. He then got the large response when he posted some possible units and prices. When he saw how much this service was desired by the rest of us he began to make his plans and get things in order. He could not have forseen the problems with his supplier nor the problems with payment options. He is starting a brand new business. This does not happen over night. Also he has been faithful to tell us when he has had problems and has listened to our advice and counsel and constantly said that he would let us know when he is able to get going. From what I have seen and comunicated with Cameron he has been completely honest. I think you need to take a chill pill my freind. If you think you can do it better or faster then why don't you try.
