The best of this season’s denim is anything but the basic blue jean. Shapes that have not been seen since the ‘90s are finally making a comeback, while today’s familiar silhouettes are punched up with colors and embellishments:
The boyfriend jean: Fashion and celebrity spotters can probably easily point out by now who is responsible for this fit’s resurgence: Katie Holmes. And she had actually borrowed her pair from husband Tom Cruise, designers have since made enough pairs for women so that sharing is no longer necessary. The modern twists are its narrowly rolled-up cuffs.

Recently reported sales of True Religion have made the denim brand an anomaly in the luxury market, perhaps even a worthy investment once retail sales pick up, an analyst reported.
Net fourth quarter sales totaled $73.0 million, a 38.5 percent rise from 2007 sales of $52.7 million; while sales in its U.S. wholesale segment rose by 14.4 percent to $36.4 million.

While stirring up many cries for fair trade practices over the past few years, China has become a notorious source for cheap apparel and textile production.
But as other countries – namely Vietnam and Cambodia – rise in hopes of seizing its industry role, China’s growth rate has finally slowed down.
