Ask Chris McCabe how to deal with today’s economy, and he will refer to a familiar saying:

“These are definitely challenging times – and I hate to use a cliché but you know – when life throws you lemons, you make lemonade.”

Meanwhile Nielsen Business Media’s Merchandising Group, the ASD/AMD trade show producer, decided to create its first ever Liquidation Expo.

Consider its creation a direct – and free – response to the buyers who demanded for bargain sourcing from McCabe, vice-president, and the rest of the Merchandising Group.

“This would be serving a need that is out there … and so we’re going to introduce it,” McCabe said.

This exhibition, June 6-9 at California’s Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, is expected to span 30,000 square feet and showcase 150 exhibitors offering retail liquidation and closeouts.

Exhibitors include Kole Imports, Four Seasons General Merchandise, 26 California Bazar, Concord Enterprises, Global Gift Corp., United Pacific Distributors Supply, Regent Products Corp., Leon Korol Co., CWC Inventories, Libra, Selective Imports and Max’s Wholesale.

For more information, call 1-800-421-4511 or visit ASD/AMD’s official Web site. Prospective exhibitors should call Dell Holden, sales manager, at 310-481-7355.
