With more and more people turning to the Internet for their main source of income and business, it’s important to change with the times and stay ahead of new ideas. Auto responders are not new ideas, but they are good ones. They allow you to take control of your business in a way that will streamline your processes and help make you more money. Here’s why:

Helping Your Customers:

These guys are the most important element to your business. They’re the ones who keep you in business by purchasing your products or services and referring their friends and family to you. The thing is, they are also quite touchy. If they send your company an email and are kept waiting, they don’t have a problem with finding the next company in line that is ready and prepared to take care of their needs. If customers have questions or concerns, they want a fast answer. With the number of emails you get each week, it can be difficult to answer them right away. An auto responder acknowledges their concern or question and makes them feel like they’re important. Then you are able to get back to them and address their concerns.

Auto responders are also used when transactions take place on your site. When you buy something from an online store, you normally receive a receipt by email which contains everything you need to know about the order you just placed. If you don’t receive a receipt, you’ll really start to wonder about the status of your order, or if it was even received, right? Receipts and other transactional messages (such as shipping confirmations) are auto responders that you can set up to help your customers when they have purchased products from you and keep them up to date on the status of their orders.

Freeing Up Your Time:

Don’t have a lot of time? Well, most business men and women don’t these days. If you are unable to sit at your computer waiting for a customer to contact you so that you can immediately answer them, an auto responder will do it for you. A lot of customers will email their questions to you. Adding an FAQ to your auto responder message can help with a lot of the same questions and concerns. This saves you from having to answer the same thing over and over. That frees up your time and allows you to focus on other important aspects of your business, and your customer is still taken care of. Of course, you will want to get back to them if they have a question that the FAQ doesn’t cover.

Promoting Sales and Discounts:

Auto responders are great for adding sales and discounts to your emails. Something like a "featured product of the week" would go over really well. Or, you can add a great discounted item to the auto responder message. Something that makes them want to act quickly is great. When a customer emails you, he or she can browse through your sales and discounts on the auto responder message. This is a great way to get a few extra sales until you are able to get back with your customer.

Auto responders are a great way to keep your customers happy, free up your time, and even gain a few sales. Take advantage of what they can do for your business.
